Terrace Room

Terrace Room is a banquet hall wedding venue located in the center of Goldsboro, North Carolina. Set in a historic 1920s structure in the city's downtown, this event space continues a legacy of hosting memorable celebrations. Owned and operated by Literacy Connections of Wayne County, the Terrace Room also helps fund non-profit programs.

Facilities and Capacity

The main room and terrace space of this venue are available to book for events. A couple may rent these areas for up to 100 guests, depending on the details of their celebration. The outdoor terrace space overlooks downtown Goldsboro, while inside is a 2,500 square foot space.

Services Offered

The Terrace Room staff offers event consultation with their Events Manager ahead of an occasion, and a dedicated facility attendant on the day of the event. A variety of table options are available, including banquet tables, cocktail tables, and serving tables, with setup and breakdown provided by staff. Additionally, the use of a catering room, bathroom suites, and a mobile bar helps bring an event to life.

History

This event space's history began with the Hotel Goldsboro, built by architect W.L. Stoddart in 1924. This property saw the construction of its landmark terrace in 1926, just off the hotel's dining room. This area was outdoors for several years before being enclosed and remained a gathering place until it was closed in the 1970s. This space was reopened by the Weil Family as the Terrace Room, and these proprietors managed it until 2024. They passed management of the Room to Literacy Connection of Wayne County, a local non-profit organization.
