He is currently performing private events and concerts with his Gypsy Swing group (guitars, vocal, violin, bass) and George Cole Quintet (guitar, vocal, piano, drums, bass, and saxophone)... George Cole Music spans genres and styles, with influences that include: Django Reinhardt, The Ramones, Nat King Cole, Doc Watson, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Willie Nelson, the Great American Songbook, and George’s 11,000 monthly Spotify listeners! George Cole is the guitarist for the David Grisman Quintet/Sextet and has 2 releases on Grisman’s highly regarded Acoustic Disc Label, he was guitar teacher and mentor to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt (of Green Day) for 10 years in the East Bay. Cole, a San Francisco native and BAMMIE award winner brings an expertise to his guitar playing and singing that is filtered through Rock and Roll, Gypsy Jazz and All things American. Jazz legend Keely Smith handpicked Cole to play guitar and sing duets with her on her last tour. Chris Isaak also had Cole lay down guitar tracks on his platinum selling Forever Blue release. Performing original songs or classic favorites, George Cole's love of music and the The Great American Songbook shines through on stage. His band of world-class musicians swings with energy and life delivering great acoustic music, delicious vocal harmonies, and a well-rounded memorable show suitable for all ages. Their sound has been called "Eurocana" - a delightful, original, and sumptuous combining of Great American Songbook style tunes and the Gypsy-jazz originated by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.
