Surfsand was the perfect venue for our wedding this September. We had planned for a beach ceremony with our reception in the ballroom but brought the ceremony inside when a rainstorm rolled in. Kate at surfsand was a dream to work with - particularly the day of the event. She made sure to get in contact with all of my other vendors, my personal day-of contact, and myself, to make sure that my vision was executed, despite the weather. The surfsand catering staff were sure to check in with me throughout the day to make sure we stayed on schedule (and to make sure I was able to eat!). I am absolutely blown away by the progrssionalism of all of the surfsand staff. We have been vacationing here for the past few years and will continue to do so, after our wedding weekend.
My advice to other brides - dont sweat the small stuff. Surfsand will make sure your day plays out perfectly.

From the very first time I set foot at the Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach, I knew it was where I wanted to get married. (This is not an exaggeration - I grew up on the East Coast and my first trip to Cannon Beach was a few years ago with my now-husband!)

The Surfsand was an amazing place for our wedding. We appreciate both of the coordinators we worked with at the Surfsand (Kate and Sarah). There were some wrenches and last minute changes - as there probably is with every wedding - but the staff really took everything in stride (even when I was having some freakout moments!) so I cannot thank the Surfsand team enough for their professionalism and flexibility.

Like many other couples, we had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID - we appreciated how easy it was to coordinate this.

It seemed like everything came together for our wedding - we were able to obtain a beach permit (Cannon Beach wasn't issuing these out due to COVID for a while) and we had beautiful weather. We are also so happy we chose the Haystack Gardens space with the tent so we were able to have some open air flowing for our reception. We will forever come back to stay at the Surfsand and remember that perfect day.

We LOVE the Surfsand Resort and had an amazing experience with them! When we had to postpone our large Portland wedding due to Covid-19 I was initially devastated, but our experience Surfsand Resort made for an incredible elopement day and was beyond what we could have hoped for. They did our small 20-ish person beach ceremony, reception catering, and evening bonfire. Plus we stayed in one of their beautiful ocean front suites. Everybody we came into contact with at the Resort was amazing, especially Sarah Bunce who helped us pull off the whole thing.

Everything was amazing. The planning process ahead of time with Sarah was a breeze. And the day-of execution really delivered. The ceremony was set up beautifully, on time, with a perfect view of Haystack rock. The chairs were perfectly spaced for social distancing and they even grouped them in families exactly according to a map I drew. My mom was impressed with how professionally the catering was delivered to our house and set up. And it was all delicious! Our evening bonfire was easy to find, well set up, and even included little covid-safe s'more packs in buckets around the whole thing- it was so cute! The staff around the bonfire were helpful, and even came to fix the fire for us when we accidentally put it out.

It was our first time staying at the hotel and we will definitely be back for many anniversaries! The front desk staff were kind and helpful when we checked in, and even remembered who we were when we checked out. We loved finding a surprise beer sampler and cheese tray in our room when we checked in (so thoughtful!). The rooms were beautiful and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a small issue with the TV, but when we called someone from the front desk was very nice and walked us through how to fix it.

The service we received was just exceptional all around. I highly recommend the Surfsand for anyone getting married on the Oregon Coast!

The Surfsand Resort was amazing to work with!! We worked with Sarah and she was amazing! Planning a wedding is not an easy task, but planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic seemed impossible, until we got connected to the Surfsand Resort!
We live in Washington and the first wedding that we had planned for over a year had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. We were heartbroken and we finally said "Let's just get married on the beach!" It was worth it.
They were amazing to work with, especially with us being out of state. Sarah did a great job at getting back to us and was very flexible with us about the contract and the payments, especially with this whole pandemic! We were originally planning to have our reception at their Ballroom hall, but when the guidelines changed, Surfsand Resort accommodated and facilitated the change to their Haystack Garden venue.
They were able to make our dream wedding come true even with the pandemic. They navigated their way through the restrictions with grace and created a magical night for us.
We had disabled grandparents attend our wedding and the Surfsand staff were able to help our grandparents into their utility truck and get them down to the beach so they would not miss the ceremony! They drove them right up to their chairs, which was amazing because our grandparents were on oxygen and can't walk very well, but the Surfsand staff was able to make it so our grandparents could still be part of our day.
The food was amazing! The wait staff was amazing. The bartender was amazing. The reception set up was amazing.
The fact that we were able to plan such a remarkable wedding in only three months truly shows how great this venue was to work with.
At the end of it all, the Surfsand Resort was able to provide us with a magical evening. It no longer felt like we were in this crazy pandemic, it was beautiful and we are so grateful. I would get married here all over again.

I'm not sure how anyone could possibly be disappointed if they chose Surfsand as their wedding day location. It's absolutely beautiful and everyone you work with is amazing. They made me feel like I was the only bride that day, even though there were a few other weddings that weekend! I'm sure I annoyed Terri, the event coordinator, with my countless emails, but she never once made me feel that way and always did everything to answer my question or amuse my requests! The food was amazing and the bar service was great! We have a big family and they wanted to party, and all of the staff at Surfsand made everyone feel at home. The hotel rooms are great and well valued for Cannon Beach. Overall, I couldn't be happier with our location and only wish we could go back and get married there every year!

The Surfsand Resort was a perfect venue to have an oregon coast wedding. The area surrounding the resort is beautiful, and the resort is just a few steps from the famed Haystack Rock. The staff were really helpful throughout the entire planning process, and on the day of, everything went smoothly. The food was great, the location of our ceremony on the beach was perfect, and we couldn't of asked for better weather! The staff helped make the day stress free, and it was an all around great day!

We had an amazing experience with Surfsand. Terri made planning an Oregon Wedding from Texas a breeze! The service was awesome, the food was delicious, and the Haystack gardens were gorgeous. The day of the wedding was no sweat. The only thing that worried me was that there seemed like there was nothing for me to do! Terri had the beach ceremony set up and had arranged everything with the florist, caterer, photographer and musician while I just sat back and got pampered! The staff at Surfsand was amazing, as well. They were coming in with extra tables and barstools for the make-up artist and had everything cleared away by the time i got back to my room after the wedding. Great experience!

We loved the wedding team at Surfsand Resort! Terri and Molly and the whole crew at Surfsand, the Chef and his crew at the Wayfarer (caterers) and the Chef and his crew at the Lumberyard (Rehearsal Dinner) were so great to work with. Everyone was very laid-back and pretty much did everything we needed/wanted. It was a great time had by all during the week we were at Surfsand. Terri and Molly were available to us at all times, and made it so that we could get into the ballroom and decorate as much as we needed. We really had a blast and all of our guests have said over and over that our wedding was the BEST EVER! Thanks guys! Joeana & Ben
