About this venue
Sugarland is a wedding venue in Arena, Wisconsin, offering couples the option to reserve the entire property for their wedding weekend. This unique garden estate is over 150 years old and is a state-approved facility, meeting all of Wisconsin’s construction and public safety requirements. The main house is a fully restored 1850s colonial revival farmhouse. Redecorated in 2026 with in more modern farmhouse style.
Facilities and Capacity
Sugarland can accommodate up to 250 guests throughout its two event spaces, one indoor and one outdoor, and uncovered. The Wedding Oak tree is over 150 years old and stands at the center of the estate. The branches of this tree provide ample shade for your guests while they watch you exchange vows beneath a majestic canopy. The 400-square-foot barn is Sugarland’s indoor location with an open-air feel. Perfect for couples who want a rustic-style wedding, the barn has grand sliding doors and offers a breathtaking view of the Wisconsin countryside. It also features a custom bar made from barn floor planks and wrought-iron chandeliers with dimmers to create a romantic ambiance. In addition, there’s a licensed commercial kitchen for your caterer, as well as air-conditioned bathrooms. Overnight accommodation is available in the farmhouse and cottage on Sugarland’s property, which can sleep up to 18 guests. These comfortable spaces are also ideal for you and your wedding party to get ready.

My spouse and I got married at Sugarland on September 12 and it was absolutely magical! We did a full weekend rental and were able to host our rehearsal dinner at the venue on Friday night before the ceremony. The venue owners, Nancy and Oscar, are fantastic. They are extremely attentive and accommodating - and have great attention to detail. They prioritized all of our questions and were flexible with our requests. They were very communicative throughout the whole process - no surprises. They also exercised great transparency around pricing/options when it came to our dinner and open bar. Everything was fair! On our day, everything went smoothly. No hiccups, so my spouse and I were able to just focus on having fun. The barn and table settings looked absolutely lovely and the space was uniquely ours. There is nothing I would change! I can’t emphasize enough how fantastic this experience was!

Our wedding at Sugarland was absolutely everything we could have hoped for and more! From the moment we arrived, the entire team was incredibly accommodating and truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of. They were there for our every need and made us feel so supported throughout the entire experience.
The property itself is breathtaking and provided the most beautiful backdrop for our wedding. The farmhouse was absolutely gorgeous and made the perfect place for us to stay and get ready, while the guys had a great time enjoying the cottage. Every part of the property felt thoughtfully cared for and added so much to our wedding weekend.
What stood out most was how genuinely invested they were in making our experience special. No request felt like too much, and they were always willing to help, often going above and beyond what we expected. We are so grateful for everything they did to make our wedding weekend unforgettable. We couldn’t recommend this venue more highly!

Absolutely Wonderful Venue!
We had the most wonderful time working with Nancy and Sugarland for our wedding. I had a lot of questions throughout the planning process (very type A) and she answered all of my questions in a timely manner with helpful responses. The venue itself is gorgeous and doesn't need a lot of decor for the wedding itself. No uplighting/additional lighting or anything to put on the walls necessary! Helps cut down on decor cost a bit and set up time a lot because you don't have to cover the venue, you can let it shine. The ceiling fans help to cut the heat on a hot day, and we did not need it but I'm told there were heating options as well. The accommodations were really nice to have both for getting ready and for hosting guests from far away (and yourselves). It can be a bit difficult to find hotels in Mazomanie for guests traveling from the east, but Sauk to the north and Spring Green to the west both had plentiful accommodations. They also offer camping (one RV hookup, unlimited RV parking, tent, truck, etc.). Our photos were gorgeous, which can be credited to both the photographer and the stunning venue. If a problem occurred, the staff quickly resolved it, and were great to work with. They did have an exclusive caterer, The Old Feed Mill, which Nancy runs. The food is really really good and they were the staff working the venue. We had a great experience having The Old Feed Mill as our caterer. I would recommend Sugarland to anyone getting married in the area!

Most Amazing Venue
I just got married here two weeks ago and it was absolutely everything I could have ever dreamt of.
Nancy, who is the coordinator there, is extremely friendly and helpful and always interested in creating a beautiful day for you. We took the option to rent out the venue for the weekend as there is also housing on site and it was the most perfect weekend. We absolutely loved our experience with Sugarland. The food was delicious and they took care of our desserts as well which were personalized to a request of mine and turned out perfectly.
Will always hold a special place in my heart for that weekend, that location, and the memories.

Everything you could ask for in one place!
We used Sugarland for our wedding reception summer of 2021 (the weather was stormy but cleared up and cooled the temp down so it was perfect temperature even though it was August). The venue is gorgeous and the food was very tasty! It was so convenient for the wedding party to be able to stay in the houses across the street. I highly recommend choosing this for your wedding! Nancy and her staff were wonderful to work with and incredibly they were able to make all the food garlic-free for me (I'm allergic)! She also was able to procure many specific beers and liquors for us!
A comment things going in that I wish I would have known earlier: 1) when you meet with Nancy, be sure that all the details that you discuss is on the quote. There was a minor snafu but she was able to work it out in the moment and I (the bride) didn't know there was an issue to begin with! In hindsight, I should have mentioned that the detail was missing from the quote but I had assumed that she remembered even though she has so many weddings to deal with. 2) They do allow fireworks which was awesome! Be sure that Nancy has added to the contract that they will set them off for you. Day of, the person she said would do it, didn't want to so we had to scramble to find someone to light them off. Thankfully her bar staff came to the rescue!
Overall this place was wonderful in every way possible! A little more organizing/planning better and the event would have been 100% perfect!
PS the sound in the barn is tricky - the people off to the sides of the barn and outside couldn't hear announcements well. You may want to give your DJ a heads up.
