These houses were amazing and in the perfect location. Modern House was my favorite, the view and pool were incredible. My guests and I have decided we have to go back to visit every year now.
We had a 90 person wedding reception there and they accommodated us all on their deck. It was a little crowded but we had fun!

Absolutely Perfect!!! My middle daughter’s wedding could not have been better. The setting at Squires estate in Governors Harbor allowed for each family and assorted guest to each have their own home on the single grounds of Squires estate capturing a very personal old world appeal in the idyllic surroundings of the Caribbean. The Russell House served as the perfect central gathering home for family and friends the days before the wedding, the poolside dinner reception, and post wedding relaxation as the celebration continued. Mish, Boy meets Girl Weddings, based in Eleuthra handled all the details to include fabulous welcome luncheon, wedding reception dinner and day after dinner for all. She also helped arrange for the photographer and the band – no detail too small or big! Patrick’s Squires Estates and Mish’s wedding planning and execution made this wedding a genuine relaxing celebration and vacation for all. We will be back!!!

We recently held our wedding at Squire’s Estate in Governor’s Harbour and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the venue itself, to the accommodations, to the quality of service provided by the property staff, the whole week was perfection.

Context: Our families rented the entire property for the week – the 8 houses on Squire’s Estate and the 3 houses at Squire’s Landing. From the very beginning, the Squire’s Estate team made us feel at ease by blocking out our stay while we determined who would stay where (and for how long). They helped us book each house separately, on behalf of our various family members, and prorated each party based on their length of stay. We had 75 guests in total – the ones that didn’t stay on the property easily found a variety of other accommodations in the near area.

Property: We held all of our wedding events on the property itself – which is no small feat, given that we had an Indian-American wedding (many different events). We hosted the henna party at Modern House, where we were able to accommodate all of our guests comfortably with the ground floor doors open to the pool deck. From there, we held the Sangeet (pre-wedding party with music and dance performances by guests) in the backyard of Belmont House. The next morning, we held the traditional Hindu ceremony in the garden area between Stone House and Elisa’s Cottage and closed the celebration with an evening reception on the deck of Squire’s Landing. We were thrilled to be the first group to not only use the gorgeous deck – overlooking all of Cupid’s Cay – but also to use their new tent. The tent covered half of the deck, leaving room for our guests to mingle in the fresh air. And it absolutely came in handy during a quick but heavy rain shower the night of the reception.

The property itself is gorgeous and easy to navigate, with enough room between the houses to provide some privacy. The gardens and landscaping provided a wonderful backdrop to our outdoor events, and we found it impossible to take a bad or unflattering photo on the grounds.

Squire’s Team: For every single one of our events, the Squire’s team was on hand and in communication with the two of us, our wedding planner, and key family members. They were respectful of our traditional and religious customs and were true team members during the planning phase and wedding week itself. Aside from being friendly, responsive, gracious, and extremely helpful, they also helped us with logistics, introductions, and communication with the customs broker for the items we shipped to the island. Patrick helped set up cribs/pack-and-plays in the family suites with small children (and even purchased extras) and the staff was on hand to help us redistribute the extra food, décor, and misc. items to locals after the wedding. Joy and Dominick at Governor’s Estate properties were also a pleasure to work with and helped to confirm additional off-site housing (up to the last minute!).

There’s no way we could have pulled off such a complex and successful event without the Squire’s Estate team… they are incredible individuals and professionals. If you’re in the area for a few days or a for full week of wedding madness, Squire’s Estate is your best bet. Our advice is to get to know the locals, have a good attitude, and do things the Bahamian way.

I can’t say enough about the beauty and charm of Squires Estate. We rented the entire Estate with exception of the property manager’s cottage. Every room was clean and well appointed. Our oldest daughter’s wedding was held on the Estate as well as the reception and we couldn’t have had a more beautiful venue. Patrick, the property manager was a pleasure to work with. Miss Annie, our care taker was a quick phone text/call away. She kept in contact with us to be sure we didn’t need anything. She brought her own hand mixer from home for me to use while I was there to make the wedding cake. The landscaping crew was out trimming and cleaning the grounds everyday. I can’t say enough about the wonderfully thoughtful kind folks associated with Squires Estate. The impeccable upkeep of this beautiful property is second to none. And this flows over to taking care of the guests who come to stay there as well. We were well taken care of. Check all the boxes for the beautiful Squires Estate

We stayed at Squires with a group of nearly 30 people over Labor Day. The purpose of the trip was our small wedding, and all the guests said it was the best they've ever been to. (Success!) That was thanks in *large* part to the gorgeous property, stunning colonial houses with even more stunning renovations, and the amazing location of the estate. The pool was cleaned daily, the AC units were new and very cold, and the staff was super helpful. The most helpful thing they all did was help us get ready for our trip: from sorting out sleeping arrangements, to facilitating a pre-stocking of grocery and drinks, to recommending snorkeling and the local fish fry and rental cars, even offering an additional house with three bedrooms in lieu of a house with one and a half—the list goes on. I would say that you should NOT expect this to be a hotel-like vacation—that's why you book an independent property on a family island and not a room at Atlantis! We cleaned up after ourselves, put our garbage out, and organized our own meals. All in all, we had a 12/10 trip. Thank you Squires team!

We couldn’t rave more about their beautiful location and little cottage’s charm. The resort was a Perfect accommodation for our guests as well a beautiful venue for our Daytime hangouts and wedding rehearsal.
