Solaz, A Luxury Collection Resort

Joan and the whole Solaz team were exceptional! Planning a wedding from the states seemed to be a daunting task but once we met Joan we were completely put at ease. When we went to do our site visit we knew the Solaz was the place we would get married and a destination we couldn’t wait to bring all of our friends and family to.

First, the place is stunning. I’ve travelled all around the world, over 100k miles per year stayed at many 5 star resorts but this was like nothing I’ve experienced! The property was huge but never felt crowded. The architecture was amazing, every turn was a picture perfect view. In addition to the views on the grounds, Our wedding guests were so thrilled that every room had an ocean view!

The rooms were pristine with built in sound systems and artisan butlers dedicated to all of the guests. Ramon was our Artisan Butler and he was phenomenal! He seemed to always be right there when we needed something. We moved out from the wedding suite to another room during our stay and he made it so simple.

Angelina the concierge was also a dream! She helped us book transportation and reservations for the other nights of the wedding for many large parties.

Back to wedding details! We started off working with Jose to get our contract in motion who was wonderful. Then once we came to visit the property we started working with Joan who was so organized and helpful. From the first tasting we fell in love with him. He provided references and made the work with our vendors simple. He bent over backwards for our requests and made us feel so special! We were the first couple to host a welcome party in the presidential suite and he put on a perfect night. Highly recommend a ceviche and taco bar! We moved our reception at the last minute to the Mako restaurant and he made it into a beautiful set up. Joan worked with us and our budget to make our dream wedding dream a reality. He suggested things we would have never thought of and was always available when we needed to check in. He is the epitome of what amazing customer service means and we are so grateful to have met him and had him a part of our story!

The wedding food (well all the food) at Solaz was delicious! The guests kept saying they’ve never had better food or appetizers for an event! We had Itzel make us signature drinks for the big day and people at home are still trying to create these because they were so good! Itzel is our absolute favorite bartender, her cocktails did not ever disappoint! The banquet staff was phenomenal, always smiling and so efficient! I had my special bride glass for the dance floor which they kept full at all times! We had majority of our guests dancing in the fountain at Mako and as we exited they were there ready with towels for people to dry off! We even did late night food with some takeout boxes so all the guests could keep dancing till the lights came on! It was so perfect!

Our guests ended up staying around 4 days and are already planning their next trip back. Thank you to all of Solaz and especially Joan and his outstanding team! Can’t wait come back to see everyone!
