Slateplate came into being through geologic intervention. After extensive research we found the perfect slate. It was deep black, dense and strong, and found on the border of Maine and Canada. We spent two years creating a hand-working process to produce the most beautiful, durable and easy to care for slate products – and Slateplate was born. We use clear acrylic feet on the bottom of our slate. Others provide cork feet for you to put on yourself, or cover the whole bottom in felt. Our slates are the only ones that are dishwasher safe. All of our slates can be custom engraved so your special day can really be set in stone!
