I genuinely cannot recommend Ben enough. Obviously, the most important thing you want from a wedding photographer is beautiful photos—and ours are absolutely incredible. But what made Ben so special was everything that happened in between those photos.
We had a very small, intimate wedding with only our closest family and friends. Before the wedding, one of the things I worried about was whether having vendors there would feel awkward or noticeable because our guest list was so small. There really wasn’t anywhere for someone to disappear into a crowd, and everyone there was someone we knew and loved.
Within no time at all, Ben just felt like one of the family.
He was so chill, relaxed, and easy to be around that having a camera there never felt intrusive. Nothing felt overly staged or uncomfortable, and we never felt like we had to perform for the camera. He somehow managed to be present for everything while still allowing us to actually experience our wedding.
And then we got the photos back.
They are phenomenal.
Every time I look through our wedding photos, they send me right back to that day. Even now, they make me tear up. I don't just remember where we were standing or what was happening when a picture was taken—I remember how I felt in that moment. I can feel the excitement, the nerves, the overwhelming happiness, the love from our families, and all of those little emotions that made the day ours.
That is what Ben does. He doesn't just document a wedding. He documents the feelings.
There are the gorgeous portraits and all of the pictures you expect to want from your wedding, but then there are the little moments—the expressions, interactions, laughs, and glances that you didn't even realize were happening. Somehow, he captured those too.
Years from now, I don't just want to remember what my wedding looked like. I want to remember what it felt like to be standing on that mountaintop, surrounded by the people we love most, marrying my best friend. Ben gave us that.
And to me, that is worth everything.
Our wedding also came with its share of unpredictability, including a thunderstorm and an hour-long ceremony delay, and Ben remained completely relaxed through all of it. Nothing about the day going off schedule seemed to faze him. His energy was exactly what you want around you on a wedding day—calm, flexible, fun, and completely unfazed.
I think one of the best compliments I can give him is that when I think back on our wedding, I don't remember feeling like we had a photographer following us around. I remember Ben being there. He laughed with everyone, fit right in with our families, and somehow simultaneously felt like another person celebrating with us and the person responsible for documenting it all.
When your wedding is small, every person there matters. There isn't really an "outside" of the group. Ben walked into that kind of environment and somehow immediately became part of it.
If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Ben without hesitation. Of course I would choose him because our photographs are stunning, but more importantly, I would choose him because he gave us something I didn't fully understand the value of until afterward.
He gave us a way to go back.
Every time I open our wedding album, for just a little while, I am there again. And I don't think I could ask for anything more from the person we trusted to document our wedding day.

Our experience with Ben was absolutely wonderful. He guided us with our pictures so easily, was very nice to our guests, and captured every moment we didn’t even know we wanted. He made our wedding day feel so much less stressful and we are SO thankful for that after all the planning we did leading up to the big day. He was also affordable, timely, and detailed with his work. He is a savant and I would recommend him for any wedding or event!!!

Ben did such a great job at our wedding in April, 2026! He captured so many great memories and small details that made it so special. He did a great job making everyone look relaxed and natural in our pictures. We also hired him to do our wedding video, and it also turned out great! We would recommend him to anybody!

Ben is absolutely amazing! He blended in seamlessly and took amazing shots. Everyone at my wedding raved about Ben and how on top of things he was. I would give 100 stars if I could. Not choosing Scruffy Weddings for your big day would be a huge mistake. Every points for his amazing communication, flexibility, and timeliness with our photos.

Ben was absolutely incredible. We loved having him be part of our wedding! He was always walking around the venue finding new places to take a picture and set everyone up well for the perfect shot. He got our pictures back to us very quickly and was amazing to talk to throughout the entire day. The biggest stand out of having him be our photographer was when it started to rain and we had to move the ceremony. Ben dropped the camera and jumped in to help to make our day special. Ben was absolutely incredible and the next event that anyone has in the Knoxville area we will be sure that Ben is the photographer.

We had a very small wedding and chose rather to have pictures taken the wedding at our Air BNB that had an awesome view of the Smokey Mountains. Benjamin was great with an awesome personality and worked great in the really hot Tennessee day! We chose a short session and the pics came out great!

Can not recommend Benjamin enough! We've been looking over our gallery for days, loving all of it. He did a great job of directing our shots and being super personable. We're so fortunate that we came across him.

Benjamin was so so lovely, fun, down to earth, and an expert at what he does! He took so many beautiful photos that we will cherish forever! We're so happy we found him and we would recommend him to anyone! We came in from Louisiana, and unfortunately had issues with other vendors, but Ben was 100% reliable, and that alone meant so much to us! He made our special day even more special, and we'll have our memories to look back on forever! Grateful for you, Ben!!!!

Ben and 2nd photographer Jessica we’re both so great on our wedding day. They took funny shots of the wedding party getting ready and unique sunset photos of us. Love the photos plus less than a week turn around time, easy access to photos, easily shared with family and the calm and fun they brought to our wedding. They even planned a “no look, first touch” that we will always remember.

Ben was so incredibly nice, easy to understand, and made everyone feel comfortable when posing for pictures. He was so pleasant to not only have be part of our special day, but the pictures are something we will treasure forever. They turned out beautiful and each moment was captured just as we would have liked!
