S/V Argo Navis is a boat event venue based out of Key West, Florida. This refurbished wooden schooner was first constructed in 1925 by the Hodgdon brothers. Now operated by the Rowan family, the vessel carries both a proud legacy as well as a promise of new beginnings. Here, couples and their closest friends and family can mark their milestone event while overlooking sunset skies and sailing on sparkling waters.
Facilities and Capacity
S/V Argo Navis is a spacious catamaran that offers a comfortable, yet exciting setting for intimate wedding events. The outdoor deck sets the stage for both unforgettable ceremonies and intimate social gatherings in the fresh Key West salt air. Inside the boat, its covered event space is a suitable place for couples to exchange vows or dance the day away with their loved ones. S/V Argos Navis has a maximum capacity of 35 people, with a reduced number of 22 for sunset voyages in order to achieve a more personalized experience.
The S/V Argos Navis team is committed to hosting events that transcend ordinary Key West weddings. Couples are invited to collaborate with the crew in order to tailor a sailing plan that suits their specific visions and needs. S/V Argos Navis provides support with securing bar and catering services along with other relevant wedding planning assistance.
From its beginnings in the 1920s, the S/V Argos Navis has undergone multiple name changes and shifts in ownership. In 1938 it was titled, the Hindu, by William J. Parker after a noteworthy voyage to India. It then sailed with the US Coast Guard during World War II, scouting out and crossing paths with German watercraft on multiple instances. In the 1960s, the vessel played a significant role in whale watching efforts off of the East Coast. After this, the boat went on to face near destruction due to neglect and impending demolitions, before William Rowan finally purchased it in 2012. Today, S/V Argos Navis adds to its fascinating history by facilitating meaningful and monumental occasions for its special passengers.

Sailing off into wedded bliss with Argo Navis!
We were supposed to get married in April with a big wedding at the botanical gardens in Key West. When the pandemic hit, we changed plans and opted for a smaller, immediate-family ceremony. Argo Navis was the perfect choice, and having the boat all to ourselves made us feel so special. Being a Covid bride was stressful, but sailing out at sunset was a magical experience- and the day exceeded my dreams. The crew was professional and extremely accommodating, but most of all they made us feel safe. In this new era we're in, I cannot say enough how reassuring it was to enjoy an important milestone and let loose, while feeling both secure and private on the boat. Forever thanks to the Argo Navis for creating those memories!Sent on 07/15/2020

I booked the Schooner Hindu for my wedding ceremony and a sunset cruise. The weather DID NOT cooperate on our original date and Captain Tom was so flexible and accommodating. He married us on the boat while docked on Saturday night and gave us a Sunday morning mimosa and bloody mary cruise in place of the Saturday night sunset cruise. He was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the planning process and the crew was a class act. The ship is beautiful and perfect for a unique and salty wedding venue.Sent on 12/19/2017

Beautiful historic wooden schooner makes for a perfect setting for a sunset wedding at sea. The crew were incredibly professional and friendly making all our guests feel comfortable and safe. The Captain met with us to discuss the best conditions and timing for the ceremony before hand and then executed it perfectly during the sail. We opted for the light fare catering with cheeses, meats, crackers and chocolates, all very delicious and appropriate for the occasion. They also have a wonderful selection of fine wines and craft beer. Overall I could not have asked for a better experience for my wedding and wouldn't change a thing.Sent on 05/19/2016
Schooner Hindu is a great place for a small ceremony. Holding up to 38 people it has ample room to move around. As a photographer it creates an old nostalgic feeling, that shows in light contrasted photos. It helps you put a vintage feel, but with sophistication. The crew and captain definitely love what they do, and it shows. I would highly recommend the Hindu for the creative, natural, and unique couples who want something truly special.
