Rocky River

Originally constructed in 1913, the Rocky River estate has been a historical landmark of Anderson, South Carolina for over a century. The original owners, Mr. & Mrs. Seybt, named the property, "Valley View," due to the elegant architecture of the home and the scenic land surrounding it.

Over the years, the house has become home to many families, including that of former U.S. Congressman, John C. Taylor. When we came across the property in 2003, we knew we wanted to preserve the beauty and character of the estate to keep its story alive. Its rustic charm and traditional ambiance make it the perfect setting to celebrate all of life's greatest moments.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples can celebrate with 200+ of their loved ones in one of Rocky River’s various event spaces. You can say your vows on the wrap-around porch, allowing you to enjoy the property’s natural beauty while still being sheltered from any inclement weather. Taylor’s Garden is also available, where couples can celebrate under the established oak trees on the grounds. The Bootlegger Barn offers a rural setting for outdoor celebrations. The barn can accommodate 250 guests and features views of the surrounding countryside. There are three available suites for the couple and their wedding party to get ready for the event, offering ample space and privacy before the day begins. Onsite parking is also available for wedding guests.

Services Offered

Weddings at Rocky River are supported by an experienced event team. Engagement parties, wedding showers, and rehearsal dinners can also be held at the house. Outside vendors are welcomed at Rocky River, giving couples the freedom to choose professionals they trust. Chairs and tables are provided for 100 guests as the standard, but more can be arranged on request. Additional event furniture, a dance floor, and more rental options are available. To allow the couple to focus on each other, the team at this venue can also take care of the setup and cleanup. Before the wedding, portraits may be captured onsite.
