Hired in 2014 for 2015 wedding. Had great pictures, pricing and response times. Once the contract was signed and deposit paid, everything changed. He doesn’t abide by his simple contract terms. For my wedding budgeting I chose to do installments from the deposit to the date full payment was due, which was not his requirement. Our package included a “complimentary” engagement session, which we did in Galveston on a weekday. The day before the shoot I was unable to get in touch with him because one of his numbers was tied to a phone that he could not access, & when we did speak he went on about taking a day off for it & made it sound like an inconvenience. The next day he showed up sloppily dressed, with none of the props he'd claimed to have available and had absolutely no knowledge of the area we were shooting in, therefore had no ideas of where to go or how to pose us. The session was awkward and frustrating. He is also not professional in his demeanor which didn’t help. When I asked him how long it would take the for the photos to be edited so that I could order my save the dates he asked if I was going to be giving him another payment before then, which would have made the 3rd payment, far more than the deposit that he required by that time, and said that he guessed I'd have paid him enough to give me one or two photos. I found that odd but felt paranoid. I then got a text about sex that he meant to send a friend, which upset me. The photos that I received were so bad that we decided to terminate our contract. Which stated that he would keep the $200 deposit and the contract would be terminated. He refused to return any of our money, sending me a bill for over $800 to more than eat up the entire amount I had paid.Billing his hours of missed work at his day job, his mileage from Spring to Galveston, all of his editing, etc. My husband and our attorney convinced me that he probably spent our money and couldn’t give it back and that suing would be a further waste.
