About

Hey there, I'm Rashelle.
A wedding, lifestyle & boudoir photographer located in Cheney, Washington.

My mission is to provide clients with portraits and event documentation in the form of high-quality, custom photographic artwork. It is my passion to preserve stories while spreading love.

I’ve been doing wedding, lifestyle & boudoir photography professionally for 10 years now, and I can honestly say I am more in love with this career today than I ever imagined I could be. I get to capture real-life moments that make you feel something. On top of that, I have been blessed with the best clients that have turned into lifelong friends. That’s living the dream if you ask me. God is good!

A little bit about me...

  • I spent the first 14 years of my life living next to a farm resulting in some of my best friends being cows. Growing up like that taught me to appreciate simple things.
  • I love nostalgia, the mountains, natural medicine, mac & cheese, Hawaii, winged eyeliner, and freedom.
  • All the personality tests: Dolphin, 4w5, ENFP-T.
  • I've been married to my best friend for 6 going on 7 years. He's been my boyfriend for 12 years though;)
  • We have been blessed with the most spectacular baby girl, who is now 2 years old, and full of sugar and spice. We adore our two 6-year-old dogs, our first babies.
  • I am a follower of Jesus. He's the One who saved my life.

Photography, my process.

Chasing this dream has taught me some pretty amazing things. My parents got me a kids Kodak camera on my 7th birthday, which would have been in 1999. I can still remember the way the plastic smelt, and the feeling of clicking the first photo. I continued my photography education through the SFCC photography program. While in the program I had the pleasure of spending two terms learning film photography. After that, I landed a year-long internship with Allie Hannah Photography. I still continue my education online and on the job.

The gear I use now: The camera bodies I currently use are a Canon 5 D Mark IV and iii with 3 prime lenses. I usually only use the on-camera flash for indoor events, reception coverage, and boudoir - if I need to use a flash at all. Natural light is more my thing.

My shoot philosophy: I’m not a big fan of poesy-poesy. I love the in-between moments. So I will set you up in a pose and then let it unravel, so to speak. I like to take a natural laid-back yet professional approach when it comes to the flow of sessions and weddings. Our time together is meant to be an adventure where we learn new things and freeze some memories;) I love to travel, so don’t let distance hold us back from working together!

My edit philosophy: Oh man, I’m a bit passionate about this one. There are so many “presets” out there that it’s hard to keep track of them all. I started out by using the VSCO film presets back in 2014 then mixed in a little bit of my favorite flavor from "A Fist Full of Bolts" in 2017 morphing into my very own style. I like to think of it as a film inspired with touches of clean modern-boho and nostalgia. Crafting my own pre-sets does not mean I just copy and paste the pre-set on 2K+ images and call it good. I believe in hand editing. This means making sure every single image you receive not only was shot and edited with skill, but also has emotion, and some kind of artistic or sentimental value. This is one of the reasons why the turnaround for the images can take the full amount of time outlined in our contract.
