We hired Pure Entertainment for our wedding in July. To say we were disappointed in the job is an understatement. When we asked if we could go see them at an event before hiring them, we were told that they don’t usually do that because people don’t like it. I should have followed my instinct then and not hired them but when I talked to everyone about hiring a DJ, the consensus was as long as you provide the songs you want, what could go wrong? Well let me tell you…just about EVERYTHING! From the beginning, we told the Chris and Fran that we were not honoring guest requests at the wedding. Instead we had compiled a list of songs we wanted, a MUST PLAY, list based on sentimental songs between us, our families and friends. The list also included guest requests that we had as part of our RSVP. We gave them an organized and completed list of songs as well as a detailed timeline for our wedding. I’m a teacher, so trust me, I couldn’t have been more specific! As the night went on, I heard several songs that were not on our must play list. Instead, they played inappropriate songs that I really did not want to hear. Upon hearing these songs, the BRIDE, GROOM and MAID OF HONOR had to repeatedly ask for songs that were on the list, including Motown. Once they finally played a Motown song, it was remixed as if we were at a nightclub and not my wedding. I spend the last 40 minutes urging them to play the most important songs that I could think of at that time of the night. I was angry and upset, not how I wanted to feel at the end of my most special day. They also did not know how to do the Married Couples dance and ruined that as well. We had to play the song 3 times and I had to explain everything instead of enjoying the time with my married family and friends.
