Mileta is an utterly top-notch, well traveled and seasoned professional – attentive to every detail and a bottomless WEALTH of information. She has an endless array of contacts and suggestions. She covers detail like no other right down to the backroads of France and where the stop signs were. Our honeymoon was amazing thanks to Mileta! We went on our honeymoon two days after our wedding. We knew that we were going to be tired and very overwhelmed after the wedding, and wanted to go to a place we could relax as well as learn about the culture and traditions of the people who were hosting us. We told Mileta our budget, the number of days we wanted, the general location we wanted to visit (in our case south Asia), and let her work her magic. And what magic she worked! She came back with several proposals, one better than the other. When we would ask her what she recommended, she always asked us to tell her our thoughts about the proposals first and that she would then give her recommendations. We loved this because she helped us think through our decisions so we could own the trip. She was our coach. We decided to go to Bali, Indonesia. As we were planning, Mileta suggested activities that would me our goals of understanding the people and the culture of Bali while relaxing and enjoying our first few days as a newly married couple. We decided to shorten our schedule from 10 to 7 days so we could stay within budget. Seven days was the perfect amount of time. Mileta works closely with partner travel agencies, in our case it was EXO. The folks from EXO were amazing. Mileta not only planned our itinerary, she even booked our flights (making sure that we flew with a comfortable airline--Singapore Airlines) from the US and our overnight hotel at our connecting airport! This was our itinerary:

We flew from L.A. through Tokyo and Singapore (the 20 hours were actually pretty comfortable--Mileta made sure that she accommodated time difference and maximize our first and last days in our itinerary), arriving at Bali late morning. Some from the agency picked us up at the gate, helped us go through immigration through a faster lane, and got our luggage while we waited in a lounge. We were then escorted to our airconditioned car, with our private driver and tour guide. They were amazing! Our tour guide went above and beyond throughout the entire week to make sure that we saw the real Bali. He was very spiritual and seemed to have similar values as we did. This was such an added bonus we weren't expecting. We stayed in three different cities in Bali: Ubud, Munduk and Seminyak. Ubud is the cultural capital of Bali. We saw a traditional musical/dance performance (insert name), went to a Balinese cooking class (insert link), got a blessing from a local priest/astrologer, visited the Monkey Forest (insert link), had a couple's massage and romantic lunch by the river, and explored independently, all in 3 days!

We then embarked north, where we visited the temple (insert name and link) and an amazing rice field co-op. We also had a meal at a forest café. We arrived in Munduk and stayed in a coffee plantation. We learned about the history of the local people, toured a coffee plantation, visited an amazing cascade and relaxed in our villa with a private pool and hot tub. The views and connection to the earth were something out of this world. And the coffee and tea, you have to try it to understand how wonderful it is (if you like coffee, don't skip the cat poop coffee, it's worth trying!).

Our last stop was Seminyak, the beach area. This was a great way to end our time in Bali. Our hotel had a pool right on the beach. We could go for walks at the beach and relax in the beach chairs provided by the hotel. We did a photoshoot with the hotel's photography services as a courtesy because we were on our honeymoon; you get a free photo even if you don't buy the package, worth doing it.

The Balanise people are amazing, some of the most hospitable we have encountered. They always ask you where you have been and where you are going. There is a great sense of community within the people that is extended to visitors (who they actually call guests because they are not just tourists that come to their Bali, they see visitors as people who they are opening the doors of their homes to). Be prepared to negotiate everything you purchase at the markets, that is the Balinese way of doing business (you don't do this in stores).

Mileta Foster has been my travel agent for a few years now! She is easy to work with, full of useful information, suggestions and guidance. Mileta planned my bachelorette party to Jamaica, she was very patient, found us great prices and everything went smoothly! We had a blast! Mileta also planned my honeymoon to Bali, it was great just having everything taken care from transportation to tours to hotels and fully trusting it will all be great! And it was!
