About
Marriage is an art form — anyone who tells you differently is doing it wrong. At Print & Promise, we’re just learning the art of marriage (John & Alison tied the knot in 2010), but we’re experts in the art of printing.
We’ve fallen in love with letterpress printing, and we think you will, too.
We use a vintage printing form that creates letters and designs that are literally pressed on a gorgeous, perfect piece of paper. Run your fingers over our letterpressed invitations and you can feel the words as you see them. Our machines are huge, hulking pieces of metal that does their work through oily gears, vats of multicolored paints, and plenty of hard work. The presses themselves have been out of production for decades, and the print method is largely a lost art. We labor over our machines in our print shop in Atlanta, a multicultural city with the soul of the South. We love the contrast of surrounding ourselves with metal skyscrapers as we oil gears and mix paints, all to create elegant, flawless heirloom prints adorned with delicate blooms and romantic imagery.
Your wedding invitation is the first picture of that future, and we want it to be perfect. When you open a box from us, you’ll run your fingers over the fine paper and feel the impression of your names, together in print, for the first time as a couple. We want to bring tears to your eyes in that special moment. It’s the perfect choice for an heirloom invitation because every single print is a treasure.
