Located at the "Oasis on the Plains" in Colby, Kansas, the Prairie Museum of Art & History is one of the few places in northwest Kansas that can provide a genuinely unique wedding experience to fit every budget. The Prairie Museum features 24-acres of hospitality that can accommodate the smallest and most intimate gatherings to the largest of crowds. For instance, our Garvey Educational Room is perfect for bridal showers of up to about 75 people and can provide modern amenities, a kitchenette, and close proximity to our indoor exhibit collections. Set with beautiful stained glass windows and historic charm, the Lone Star Chapel built in 1915 can serve an intimate wedding ceremony of no more than 100 people. And lastly, home to the largest barn in Kansas and named an 8th Wonder of Kansas Architecture, the Cooper Barn can serve about 1,000 people in the loft for the most expansive and rustic ceremony and/or reception imaginable!
