My wife and I hired Alandra to write impromptu poems at our wedding reception, and we are so glad we did. It added a level of magic and intrigue to the event that we and our guests loved. Was I ever relieved with this choice!! I was of course nervous about getting something cheap and cheesy struggling to be a poem, but Alandra is a real poet, so we got a REAL POEM. I first heard of Alandra through the staff at Powell's Books (west coast Portland), and I couldn't think of a more literate gift than an original poem (bestie is a museum curator). But the originality of Alandra's work met the moment accurately and gently in a "poetic" way. It felt absolutely liberating and healing to read it aloud at the wedding.
