Mark from Pier23 Photography was great to work with. He was friendly and quick and had a knack for blending in, so you didn't necessarily know he was snapping great candid photos. It did take a while for us to get the photos but once we did, we loved them.

Mark is amazing...he's so laid-back and friendly. My husband and I felt like we had known him for years and years. He was so good at putting us at ease. He was also so on top of things the day of our wedding, and our pictures turned out so amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, no matter where you live (we live in MD)!

After a couple of months of research on affordable wedding photographers I stumbled upon Pier23 Photography and couldn't be happier about finding Mark Thackeray! I was blown away by his portfolio--beautiful, crisp, modern, creative pictures that really capture some special moments. My husband and I couldn't believe that we could afford such high quality photos (and our package comes with prints as well as a beautifully packaged CD of all our images!). Mark traveled out to DC from UT three times for us--for a consultation, for our engagement shoot, and for our wedding. We are continually amazed by his dedication to his work, his kindness, attentiveness, and talent. We love ALL our photos from both the e-shoot and the wedding--he did an amazing job capturing the essence of who my husband and I are as a couple, our relationship with our family and friends, and all of the little details that made our big day so special. For our engagement shoot, Mark was really open to shooting at some places that were meaningful to us--a very old bookstore, and a park by my parents' house (he even let our pup join us at the park and got some great shots of us playing with her!). Both the black & white and color photos came out gorgeously. He has a creative and keen eye and the composition of all the pictures is really nice. For our wedding, Mark was great about taking shots that we requested as well as knowing which other ones we would love later. From our experience with the engagement shoot, we knew we could completely and totally trust him to capture EVERY important moment as well as all of the handmade details of our wedding, and we were beyond pleased with the final results. One of the most important things to us besides the quality of the photos is the fact that Mark is simply a kind person. He is thoughtful, easy to work with, and really cares about the couples he works with as well as their loved ones. Our friends who just got married last weekend HAD to book Pier23, too!
