Penney was wonderful to work with for my wedding day hair & makeup. I was having trouble finding someone who would do a lighter, more natural look until my friend recommended Penney to me. She's so friendly and really organized; she was able to set up 3 other artists to do hair and makeup at a different location for 7 of my future in-laws, which was a huge help.

My mom and I had our trial at Penney's house a few months before the wedding and Penney took all of my feedback from that day and put together a look that I absolutely loved on my wedding day. She was prompt arriving at our hotel that morning, even after styling an entirely separate wedding party hours before, and she has such a great, easy-going nature which helped me stay calm and relaxed. Really, Penney was exactly what I was looking for and I'm really glad I got to work with her!

Penney is fabulous at what she does and makes brides feel AMAZING! Everyone commented with how great my makeup and hair looked, but it goes beyond that. She has a great personality. She is very friendly and easy to work with. From the time I had my trial run with her I knew I wanted to book her right away. She was very easy to talk to and explain what I wanted and really captured what I was envisioning.

And SHE IS A MIRACLE WORKER! My mother had bought this HIDEOUS weave like a week before the wedding and was dead set on wear it. She has short hair and wanted the pulled back look and didn't think it could be achieved with her natural hair. I thought absolutely not, but Penney was able to work some magic and made her hair look amazing! #webeweave #beweaveit

I cannot say enough positive things about Penney of PD Artistry. I was so impressed by Penney’s talent, responsiveness, and clear communication, all of which made the process much easier and more enjoyable! She responded within the same day to questions I had. And she provided helpful comments and insightful feedback regarding what hairstyles she thought would and would not work on me & the bridesmaids based on existing hair lengths. In fact, another vendor recommended I purchase hair extensions, but Penney astutely pointed out that I had highlights and that it would be challenging to match. I also inquired about where I could find hair pieces/embellishments and she responded right away with retail suggestions.

The expectations were quite clear regarding what to anticipate the day of the wedding and the trial. She provided a little make-up touch-up kit for the day of the wedding, which she communicated in advance, so it was one less thing I needed to worry about! She provided clear instructions for what to do and not to do with our hair and faces prior to all the events. After the trial, I communicated things that I didn’t like, and all my comments were actually heard! My H&MU was adjusted accordingly the day of thei. After returning to work 3 weeks after my wedding, my male coworker commented on how great my hair looked!

Penney is very organized in how she manages her business and is clearly proficient with technology. I was able to sign my contract electronically, and she accepted online payments. That alone saved me time compared with other H&MU vendors. I did not have to print, sign & scan a contract, deal with checks or get in line at the Post Office. The process was so convenient and easy with PD Artistry. It may seem obvious, but not ALL vendors out there have the ability to communicate effectively, or are as organized or responsive. Take it from me, I had two H&MU trials & the experience with each was like night and day.

Penny did my hair and make-up on my wedding day, and make-up for the bridal party/both mothers (with an assistant, all in 3 hrs). She was amazing - really easy to work with, very professional, and really listened to what everyone wanted. She was super patient with everyone and was superb with some very strong personalities. She's also great at getting back to you right away. I had an excellent experience for both the trial and the wedding day.

The early pictures from family cameras look great. The make-up also stood up well against tears (I was an emotional bride, so opted for normal foundation for easy touch-up), and lasted well from the morning tea ceremony through the afternoon church ceremony, and after a touch up, was great for the rest of the night too.

Penny made me look really elegant, beautiful, and yet not that far off from the normal me. I didn't feel like I was looking at a stranger in the mirror. The hair was beautiful and easy to transition back and forth between the Vietnamese canh dong, the cathedral veil for the church, and the flower for the banquet.

I highly recommend Penny for your event. In fact, my sister's already booked her for her wedding next year. We found her through a yelp review - she definitely deserves 5 stars +.

I found Penney after reading tons of reviews for wedding makeup. I was really pleased with her immediate responses and her willingness to answer my numerous questions both over the phone and over email. Penney went over and above what I expected in my makeup trial, changing the look as I waffled from idea to idea. She was amazingly patient and positive. She was honest about what would look good on me and encouraged me to stick to a timeless look that was me instead of something that I would look back on in 50 year questioning what I was thinking! I look back on my wedding pictures now and am really really happy with how natural and fresh I look. Penney came early and worked tirelessly the whole time leaving me with a beautiful personalized touchup kit for the day. I highly recommend Penney to anyone looking for someone who is flexible and talented as well as artistic and detail oriented. I got so many compliments on my makeup and on how natural and radiant I looked. Penney was my favorite vendor of my day.

Our wedding was on May 29, 2010 and I've been meaning to write this review ever since=) When the hair and make-up artist that I had planned on hiring for my wedding ended up being booked for the day, I went into a complete panic mode! I'm very picky about who does my hair and make-up and wasn't sure how I would find someone else that I could trust to take care of me on my wedding day. I immediately began my search online and found Penney through the "A-List Makeup" website...and was glad that I did!

From the first email sent to the wedding day, Penney was an absolute joy to work with! She is very professional and very talented! After doing my trial session, I knew instantly that I wanted to hire her. She is so friendly and has such a wonderful personality and makes you feel so comfortable. She listens to your needs and opinions and makes it happen....she won't stop until you are completely happy and satisfied. She sent me an email of great tips prior to the wedding day on how to take care of my skin and hair which I thought was very nice and helpful. Penney had great suggestions and was always very patient with my many questions.

On the day of the wedding, Penney brought a team of 4 other ladies with her and they did the hair & make-up for myself and my 7 bridesmaids/matrons, both the mother of the bride and groom, 2 sponsors, and 2 little girls (flower girl and jr. bridesmaid). They arrived early to set-up and finished all the ladies in time....and EVERYONE's hair and make-up looked beautiful.

Penney worked on only a couple of the ladies and then focused solely on me. I loved how she did my make-up...it wasn't at all too heavy or "cakey" and it was definitely not the kind of make-up where the bride looks drastically different. I wanted to look like "a better me, but still me"...and she totally nailed it! Both my hair and make-up lasted throughout the night and she even gave me a "touch-up" kit that included the lipstick color she used, lipliner, q-tips, and blotting tissues. Penney is truly amazing at what she does and I will not hesitate to recommend her to future brides or anyone who needs their hair and make-up done. Oh and to top it off, her prices are very reasonable for the services that she provides! Thank you Penney and your team for getting me and bridal party "beautified" for my wedding=) Looking forward to working with you again for our "Trash the Dress" photoshoot!
