9 months later…
I never write reviews for service/businesses unless iI have exceptionally great service or the opposite. and unfortunately this was the later. i came here on a recommendation from my sister in law who had an amazing experience here. this was the first and only place i went to try on dresses. i came in march and tried on 6-7 dresses. the lady who helped me was extremely kind and helpful. she helped me try on several different styles and even picked out the dress i chose as it was one i hadnt seen online. i fell in love with the dress and we put down the deposit (~60%) and were told that my dress would be in around June. this was perfect and gave me plenty of time as i dont get married until February. I hadnt heard much from them come June so I send an email following up about my dress which went unanswered. I get a call from the shop in July asking me if i would like a zipper or corset closure on the back, awesome okay my dress is in production. Well come september- still no information on my dress, no communication from the shop unless I reach out to them with questions. My mom calls in September as I am beginning to worry about my dress. They tell her “nobody would have told you the dress would be around summer time and it will be ready the end of november/start of december, it should be in by december 1st”. I asked the other 4 people who came to the fitting with me and all of us remember being told the dress would be ready in June. My mom reaches out to several different shops, looking to buy the same dress for me a SECOND time to make sure i have my dress in time. of the three other shops she reached out, one local and two across the country, all of them said they could have my dress ready in a MAXIMUM of 3 months. we ask OML about this and they just say “thats not how long it takes”. they have a no returns and no refunds policy so we cant even cancel and go to another shop without losing out on almost $2000. we decide to tough it out and just hope for the best, hoping it comes in when they say it will. i call at the beginning of december as we still have not heard anything, and now i am told its not there yet but it should be shipping soon and they wont have the tracking information until a couple days later, despite the label being created 2 days before we called (we later found out). my dress finally arrives december 10th, almost 9 months later. i should note that this is not a custom dress, is not custom sized, and is one size throughout the dress. the only explanation offered was that “thats just how long it takes” despite every other shop being able to get the dress is as much as 3 months. no apologies were ever offered for any miscommunications. when i ordered my dress, i was measured and fit into 3 different sizes. they then asked me which size i wanted and did not recommend to me that i go with my largest measurement and have the rest taken in. instead, i thought it was best to go right down the middle and was given no professional guidance otherwise. now doing alterations, the seamstress advised i should’ve been told to order the size of my largest measurement. i now have had to pay over $400 in alterations that could’ve been avoided had i been properly advised on sizing (this is on top of my additional alterations that were needed)
i loved the selection that they had however, the communication was minimal and there was severe miscommunications of some sort. if you do decide to shop here, make sure all communications are done in writing so you have something to back up what they initially tell you months later.
