Old Sanctuary is a unique wedding venue located in Brookings, South Dakota. Previously the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the property was sold in 2002 and became the Old Sanctuary events venue after a few modifications. The original church, now known the Old Sanctuary, has been hosting magical wedding receptions since April 2003!

Facilities and Capacity

This beautiful and historic venue is equally suited to hosting grand gatherings as intimate affairs.Old Sanctuary boasts an impressive amount of space and can host weddings of up to 400 guests.The vaulted ceilings and wood paneling give the property a timeless elegance that your wedding designers will love. You will also have access to a 300-square-foot external decking area alongside the auditorium, providing your guests with a relaxing area to chat and mingle. There are two fully equipped get-ready suites for the wedding party to enjoy and prepare on the morning of the big day. A catering kitchen is located onsite for you or your outside vendors to use. A bar area is situated in the auditorium if couples would like to serve alcoholic beverages during the reception.

Old Sanctuary offers open catering which means you may use any combination of vendors and homemade as you would like! We have a commercial kitchen on site with two refrigerators and a triple-dip sink so there is on-site prep and storage space for any kind of meal or refreshment.
