My mother used Occasions when she and my stepfather were married 20 years ago, so we were thrilled to work with them on my wedding!
Eric and Joel are so professional and were very thoughtful in crafting a unique and creative menu for our wedding. My mother writes cookbooks and had a distinct vision for our wedding meal - which was at the family home in Annapolis, MD. Occasions brought that vision to life and then some!
I can truly say our menu was not typical wedding fare - we wanted it to be seasonal and rustic/homey.
They set up a grill by the water for grilled Oysters Rockefeller, miso-glazed calamari skewers and autumnal veggie skewers. Our entree was grilled skirt steak with roasted fingerling potatoes, sauteed spinach, and mushrooms - it was just as delicious on the wedding day when it was being prepared for 140 guests as it was on the day of the tasting when it was just me, my husband, and my parents.
The service was wonderful at the reception, too. My husband and I had a dedicated server following us around all evening refilling our champagne and getting us water.
Knowing that we likely wouldn't eat much at the reception, they had plates of fried chicken and mac and cheese waiting for us to reheat at the end of the night as well as a box of macaroons, two mini bottles of champagne, and cookies with our names on them. Such a nice surprise!
