Growing up in San Diego Ca, I was surrounded by the rich aromas and vibrant colors of my mother’s kitchen. She was my first teacher, guiding me through the intricate dance of spices and flavors that defined our family’s heritage. Cooking wasn’t just a daily task; it was an art form, a way to connect with our ancestors and share our culture with the world. Each meal was a tapestry woven with history, love, and a hint of adventure.
As a woman of color in the culinary world, I faced my share of challenges. Yet, it was these very challenges that fueled my determination to carve out my own space in the industry. I wanted to create a haven where flavors from my heritage could shine, where people could gather, share, and savor the stories behind each dish.
