On a scale of 1-10, I would say Nikki is 1000! In all seriousness, she took the time to help me lay out my entire wedding day timeline, gave thought process & suggestions on the bridesmaids dress material (something I'd never thought about) and genuinely cared so much about what I envisioned our special day to be like. Even with the "amazing" Nebraska weather that we had (rain, wind, sunshine, & sleet) she made the pictures so fun & brought out our personalities! Nikki has such a real and authentic way of capturing the day, she doesn't over edit pictures & knows what perfect shots/moments to capture down to the little details. She is one of the most talented photographers I know & I would hands down recommend her to anyone!

Yes, Nikki is a beautiful photographer. We greatly enjoyed our engagement session with her because she made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and gave us really specific pointers in how to pose so our photos looked natural, flattering, and showed off who we really are as a couple.

Unfortunately, we also found her really difficult to communicate with. She wasn’t very responsive to emails or text messages, and made announcements regarding her business that affected us and our wedding contract on Instagram instead of contacting us directly. We’d finish a conversation with promises that she would send more information, only to wait several days or weeks for a follow-up or confirmation about certain plans. By the time our wedding came around, we were extremely stressed because of these issues and felt like she hadn’t prepared well enough for her responsibilities of the day. We believe this impacted the quality of our final album.

We didn’t feel very high on her list of priorities, which was frustrating considering how important a wedding day is and how much money an amazing photographer like Nikki costs.

When we decided to share our frustrations about the poor communication, planning, and quality of our final album with her, Nikki told us that we didn’t pay her to communicate, we paid her to take photos.

In an industry that is as much (if not more) about the quality of service than the final product, we felt genuinely hurt and taken aback that she responded this way. Clear, timely, and organized communication is a necessity from vendors who work weddings, as is making clients feel special during a new and exciting period of their lives. This is one of the few days in your life that you and your partner should get to feel like the most important people in the room, but we felt that Nikki treated us like another line to check off her very long to-do list.

Is she talented? Yes. I still believe she is amazing at what she does.
However, I also believe every bridal couple deserves to feel that they can trust their vendors to do everything they can to help them have the best experience on one of the most important days of their lives, not cause additional stress or drama in an already stressful process. If I could have foreseen this extra stress and the sense of unimportance we felt, we would have hired someone else.
