We could not have envisioned a more perfect or beautiful venue. First, the grounds are just incredible...breathtaking views and meticulously cared for lawn and gardens. The mansion is stunning - we had the upstairs bridal suite to get ready and the groomsmen had the downstairs lounge. It worked great for us. Mary Ellen and Lisa are beyond incredible. They are so responsive and helpful and truly want to make your day perfect. We had a last minute rain scare and Lisa worked with us to be sure we made the decision that was best for us. We chose to risk it and it never rained! I can't say enough good things about our experience.

Monteverde is a dream venue! We worked with the team there for quite some time since we had to postpone our wedding from 2020 and they were so helpful and accommodating every step of the way. Their attention to detail is extraordinary. The venue itself is breathtakingly beautiful and our guests couldn't stop talking about the beautiful scenery, tent and phenomenal food. They have such an expansive menu to choose from and we felt that the food was a true reflection of us as couple, our backgrounds etc. What I loved most is that this isn't the type of venue that your guests see all the time and it made it feel that much more special for all of us.

Monteverde at Oldstone is the PERFECT wedding venue for those who dont know what they want but just know they want the day to be AMAZING. The team at Monteverde will help you with everything! You don't need a wedding planner with this team as they have everything covered. From the first meeting, they are upfront about everything! Maryellen went through everything with us; cost, most likely weather, when the leaves may change, what is included. Everyone was so helpful in making our day a dream come true. My makeup artist loved the hair and make up studio that is available upstairs. This was key because the lighting in that room is perfect for the make up artist. The best part of the venue is that you really don't need a lot of decoration (flowers, lights,..etc) to make it beautiful. My friends and family are still talking about how good the food was at my wedding! Everyone had the best time and it wouldn't have been possible without Lisa (our wedding coordinator).

We had the most beautiful wedding at Monteverde! Mary and Lisa made us feel at ease throughout the process and they were on point on the day of the event. We couldn't have imagined a more stunning place to get married and we highly recommend Monteverde and the wonderful staff.

Getting the admin. Contract, etc, needs to be little better, HOWEVER, we had our wedding there on 9/14/14 and it was a die to die for! The weather, the estate, the property and the entire experience was simply amazing. Monteverde is a place that takes you away to your dreams, the scenery, woods, the Hudson River and yet you are barely north of NYC.

The caterer, renowned chef Peter Kelly was simply amazing, the food out of this world and plenty of it. Steven, his director was on top of everything and we are so happy with every vendor we used from Monteverde's preferred list, they were amazing!

We are so happy that we booked our wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone. We booked our June 2021 date back in early March of 2020, right before the pandemic got really bad in NY. Monteverde is very much by the book and buttoned up and we really appreciated their support through the unknowns. One of the main reasons we booked Monteverde (besides the stunning views!) was that they had lodging on property. We stayed both Friday and Saturday and that totally made the wedding weekend even more amazing since everyone got to have breakfast together and it was so convenient to already be there. In terms of staff, Mary Ellen is very detailed and organized and lovely to work with. Lisa is absolutely amazing, she was actually the one to give us the original tour when we booked the venue and coordinated our wedding day, which went off without a hitch. We also got to know the proprietor Arlene well, as we discussed the latest COVID guidelines often. She’s always just a call away and we really appreciated her support. We had a slightly drizzly morning but the sun started to shine right after our ceremony and multiple people commented it was one of the most beautiful weddings they’ve been to! Thank you team Monteverde!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Monteverde and are so happy we did! The renovated dining room is beautiful and all of our guests enjoyed the gorgeous views out of the large windows. The menu that was prepared was delicious and I received numerous compliments throughout the night. Mary Ellen was a pleasure to work with as well, and was very accommodating when it came to meals for guests with allergies. Great choice if you are getting married near Bear Mountain!

Bartender of Monteverde's staff was infected with Hep-A while tending bar at our wedding. We were on day 1 of our honeymoon 4 days after our wedding. When we received a message from a FRIEND notifying us of the news that had been on TV.

Naturally, we were embarrassed that our wedding exposed our closest friends, family and loved ones to a potentially deadly virus. We were most disappointed that no one from Monteverde had the ethical courtesy to notify us.
We spent the first 4 days of our honeymoon attempting to reach all of our guests, to inform them what vaccinations were required from their specific states (over a dozen different states) health departments vaccination requirements. We thought that Monteverde would uphold the prestigious reputation that their expense $$$$ would be justified with professionalism. Instead, we experienced the "gotchya" type service from them. After our checks were cashed, they acted as if we were ghosts. Ignoring our phone calls and emails for days while we were on our honeymoon.

The lack of professionalism, morality and empathy in Monteverde's reaction to the situation leaves us feeling that they simply don't care about their clients, and only their clients money.

If you decide to book your wedding here be warned of being misled into lies and excuses from all Monteverde staff members. Issues we encountered on our wedding day at Monteverde include

No Air Conditioning in the mansion (broken from a previous wedding and not repaired in time for ours)
Monteverde staff arrived late
Grounds not landscaped prior to our arrival
Insufficient power supply in tent
Rooms locked by staff with guests belongings left in them
and again most importantly!
Failure to notify any points of contact for our wedding held at Monteverde at Oldstone of the potential risk for Hep-A infection from beverages served by Bartender employed by Monteverde at Oldstone inside the mansion restaurant bar.
