Moe has been a reliable florist for such a long time, faithfully catering flowers every season to so many college students who live near the campus and need quick flowers for their events- whether as graduation gifts or party decor. Usually you can just hand him an amount of money and have him create a flower bunch with various plants for you, florist's choice. Ordering special bunches are a different matter, however.
When my small wedding in the Berkeley area was going to take place, I'd planned to put all the flowers together in true simple DIY fashion. However, my mom who came up the weekend of the wedding insisted we do them professionally last-minute, which resulted in our quick run to the nearby Moe's for boutonnieres and corsages for the family. Moe was definitely reachable, as he's not really overrun with customers when it's not graduation season, and more than eager to take our business, but his prices are SO EXPENSIVE and his stock of flower design is so limited. He has a very strict idea of what constitutes these items and strongly insisted on traditional simple white roses for all these things. I was okay with them, but very put off by his attitude. When I tried to negotiate the price with him, he kept complaining that these things take a ton of time and effort, even though the materials he uses are just plain single roses (THE cheapest flower), cheap filler stems, pin, and tape. The final products looked fine, but were standard. As someone who'd been prepared to DIY it, I'm a little miffed that at least the materials that went into construction were so basic for the much more hefty price I had to spend.
Also, when my mom went to pick the flowers up, she easily was convinced to spend more money for extra flowers to decorate with and for another bouquet.
Anyways, long story short- Moe's works if you're short on time. His work was solid, but his prices were very high.
