Mix It Up! Is a combined wedding entertainment and premium wedding cake design service in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. DJ, your entertainer at Mix It Up! Has been performing for weddings since 2013. He has spent a long life in the service industry, from 22 years of military service, to training as a firefighter, EMT, Hunter Education instructor, and wrestling instructor for students K-12. At home, DJ began baking custom birthday cakes for his children. As his skill grew friends and family wanted his service, so he added cake design to Mix It Up’s professional services. If you’re looking for a fun, down to earth DJ with much to offer, choose Mix It Up!

Mix It Up! Offers a variety of services to suit the needs of any wedding couple. DJ will work with you to get every detail right, so you can relax and your guests can have a blast during your reception. He will also create a custom setlist to suit your musical taste. Mix It Up! Provides wedding cake services, using a variety of flavors and decorating techniques to get the look and taste you want for your wedding. DJ can also work around dietary restrictions.

Kept the dance floor hopping!

We had such an amazing night with all of our guests dancing away to the music provided by Mix It Up!. Furthermore, the planning process was so easy using his online system and DJ always made himself available for questions via phone and email in the months leading up to the process. When we were unsure how to proceed in a certain area, he also provided really helpful suggestions. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any of your events and especially a wedding. BEST DJ (and baker) EVER!!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. He helped make the experience as stress free as possible! The platform/website he uses to to fill out forms and pick what music we want was very easy and user friendly! His cake also tasted phenomenal! Two thumbs up and a 100 plus star review from us!!

Just the best!

DJ was absolutely amazing. He made gluten free cake and cupcakes for our wedding, which looked and tasted exactly as we hoped! He was on top of it with the processional music. He also calmly noted we were behind schedule and just got right to seamlessly weaving pieces of the timeline where they would fit better, to keep things moving but in no way rushed. It kept our day stress-free and our guests happy. We got so many compliments on his behalf about the cake, his engagement with the crowd, and the music! How he does it all is beyond us, but we are so grateful for his services at our wedding! He even helped the bride (me) feel better after the fact when I was bummed about things likely only I noticed going "wrong" and reminded about the joy of the day and the focus on that. Which only goes to show even more how much he cares about his couples. Thank you, DJ!

Best DJ for our big day

DJ was amazing and so professional. He made everything so easy and delivered exactly what we asked for. He made our wedding celebration so special and had everything so incredibly organized. He also baked our wedding cake which was absolutely beautiful and delicious. He was reasonably priced and we would highly recommend him to anyone for any occasion.

The Perfect DJ – Professional, Intuitive, and So Much Fun!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than DJ Rousseau! From start to finish, he was incredibly responsive, intuitive, and professional. He listened carefully to everything we wanted, honored all of our music preferences, and didn’t play anything we had asked to avoid—which we really appreciated.
He provided all the microphones we needed and played the perfect music for every part of the day—ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was always prompt with announcements, kept things moving smoothly, and read the room effortlessly. DJ Rousseau truly set the tone for the entire event and made it unforgettable.

Top Notch Work

DJ Rousseau worked my wedding at Rek-Lis Pint House on 6-7-2025. I cannot say enough good things about his work.

Ahead of the wedding, he was thorough in his preparation and tailored his work towards the wedding party’s requests. He was very up front and honest about his rates, which I found very reasonable considering his work, his services, and his capabilities. He was always reachable with questions, big or small, and again, was always honest.

The day of the wedding, the weather was unpredictable, with anything from torrential rain to sun and clear skies. He was adaptable to any scenario, up until the last minute. This helped reduce any stress that would come with a wedding.

During the wedding, he was able to accommodate last-minute song requests, and engaged the crowd well. He was able to accommodate a surprise entrance for the bride and groom, again at the last moment.

I recommend DJ Rousseau for any event with any amount of people.

New Hampshire wedding

Extremely professional service. We hired him for both his DJ and baking skills. He did an excellent job with both. The cupcakes were delicious and beautifully presented. He had a very nice mix of songs and knew how to read the crowd. I would highly recommend.

Absolutely Amazing!

He was amazing! His planning tool before the wedding was so helpful. He was able to step in and do cupcakes when our other baker cancelled last minute. They were the best cupcakes I have ever ate. In regard to his work DJing, he did a phenomenal job. Perfect mix of slower and faster songs. He understood the vibe we were going with and played songs accordingly. His price was so reasonable and we love that he gave us a military discount. He was very professional and adapted when we needed to change up the times of events for the reception. Everyone could not stop talking about how great he was. Highly recommend him to any couple looking for a DJ or for cupcakes.

Great Night with Mix It Up

We had DJ with Mix It Up do our wedding reception and ceremony. DJ was great, had good communication and his system for creating a playlist was great, our guests loved the playlist and DJ kept things flowing well. I’d recommend DJ for any or all events you’d need him for. He’s a great guy!
