The Milwaukee County Historical Society offers an elegant wedding venue in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The renovated bank building radiates with history and sophistication, making it a truly unique setting for a couple’s big day.

Facilities and Capacity

In partnership with Two Birds Event Group, the Milwaukee Historical Society’s event space can hold up to 200 guests in the restored site. The Society, with its towering ornate marble columns and luxurious gold-detailed architecture, offers the use of a second-floor mezzanine and an outdoor patio. The balcony provides spectacular views of the Milwaukee River and the city’s skyline. In addition, the bank contains 27 vaults that provide a one-of-a-kind backdrop for photo shoots. The building’s breathtakingly magnificent and opulent interior was seen in the film Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Couples and guests can photograph themselves in front of the vaults featured in the movie.

Services Offered

The Two Birds’ dedicated venue manager works hand-in-hand with the soon-to-be-newlyweds and planners to design an unequaled occasion in an iconic space packed with luxury and history. The Society can be used for ceremonies and receptions; a rehearsal is also possible. A boardroom at the South end of the building can be used as a get-ready room, thanks to its mirrors, tables, and chairs. In addition, the Society provides mahogany folding chairs, round tables, and buffet and cocktail tables for the wedding celebration. The team works exclusively with the award-winning Milwaukee Airwaves to provide audio and music for the event, as well as uplighting options, photo booths, and more. Bands are also welcome. Couples can contact the expert professionals and book a tour before making a reservation.

Beautiful venue but Unprofessional staff

We had our wedding reception here a month ago after it being postponed from 2020. While they were great with handling the rescheduling of it all since the pandemic forced it to be moved, our guests were threatened and cursed at during the reception if they did not have a mask on, when the standards were completely different from any public place we have been at. We were just looking for an apology and accountability of the poor behavior and we couldn't even get that. We had high expectations especially since this was the most expensive venue we looked at, but the unprofessionalism in the end was a huge disappointment.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
