Early on, Mike Burley worked as an assistant to Sports Illustrated photographer John W. McDonough while getting his B.A. in visual-journalism from Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura, Calif., where he and his wife, Sara, were raised.
Mike has been a staff photojournalist and wedding photographer for 18 years, traveling all over the country. Mike's been a staff photographer for the Pulitzer Prize winning Topeka Capital-Journal, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Dubuque Telegraph-Herald and was a regular contributor to the Chicago Tribune. Mike Burley had photos published in Time Magazine, New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, USA Today, and several other national publications. Locally, Mike was the cover photographer for Her Magazine and DBQ Magazine for past 7 years, and also dabbles in automotive journalism. Currently, Mike shoots weddings all over the midwest and shoots commercial photography.
