We found Christina and Matthew because they did our friends' wedding, and we LOVED how they told our friends' story in photos. We reached out to them last minute and with a limited budget, and we found a way to make it work- and we are SO happy because they got *the* most incredible photos. My husband and I cannot stop looking at them (would post them, but we're keeping our lil wedding a secret for now). Not only that, but they brought such a lovely energy to the getting-ready rooms and the family photos. We are so thrilled with everything, and we're so grateful to have found them. The very first vendor that I found for my wife and I's wedding was Matthew David Studio. I requested a phone call with them, and immediately got a response from Christina. We chatted on the phone for probably an hour, and I immediately knew that she is it!!! Christina explained to me the process, but also asked me questions about how my now wife and I met, and wanted to know all about our love story. She asked how planning was going (which was literally nonexistent at the time), and gave me a list of vendors she loves based off of the vibe we want for our wedding. She helped me to jumpstart our wedding planning!
After we signed a contract, we flew to Palm Springs for our engagement photos, which actually turned out to be my secret proposal to my wife (she proposed first). Christina helped me sneakily plan it, and took some great shots of us. We even went out for drinks after. She offered to do full blown engagement photos later in the year when it wasn't so hot in Palm Springs anymore, which worked out perfectly. So when we flew down to Palm Springs in November, we continued to have a blast with her and she helped us to feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. She asks personal questions and remembers so much about our previous conversations, which is so meaningful. The results of the engagement shoot absolutely blew me away, and I couldn't believe that was us in the photos. She uses many different types of cameras, including film, and she knows what she's doing. She is a true artist and the camera is her medium. Her photographs are stunning. She doesn't slap a filter on her photos like some other photographers do. She is the REAL DEAL. On the day of the wedding, I had the pleasure of meeting her husband Matthew. They are a dynamic duo and work so well together. I honestly could not wait to see Christina when she arrived, to show her my dress and tell her how excited I was. They also filmed a super 8 video for us, and provided the photo booth (which was such a hit!!!). We got all the shots we needed that day and everything moved seamlessly. Christina helped calm my nerves down immensely and was a calming voice and presence when I needed it. I could honestly go on and on, but really what I need to tell whoever is reading this, is that by choosing Matthew David Studio as your wedding photographer, you are making the absolute best choice you can make. We hired Christina way back in 2020, for what would become attempt number one at having our wedding. Long story short we had to cancel due to COVID and it would take us three years to finally celebrate. Christina stuck with us through it all and was just as excited as we were when attempt number two finally came together! We were initially drawn to the vintage/timeless aesthetic of her work and that she shoots on both film and digital. Her energy made both our wedding and engagement shoots feel incredibly relaxed and natural, she went above and beyond by giving general wedding recommendations when we asked and ultimately gave us exquisite high-quality photos that we love. Christina and her team shot our Feb 2023 wedding at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs and her work is truly stunninnngggg. She is a true artist! I am not a natural picture taker and Christina is such an amazing, personal and friendly person that she makes you feel so natural in front of the camera. Our engagement photos legit look like they should be in vogue and I could not be happier with our wedding photos! Not only were they so beautiful but she captured the energy and vibe of the entire day and night so perfectly that our photos tell a true story of the entire wedding experience! We also booked our videography and our photo booth through Christina and it made everything so easy and cohesive! Another thing that sets Christina and team apart from the rest is how well they know Palm Springs and all the best places to shoot. Especially around the Ace Hotel where our wedding was held! Christina and team are so responsive and super professional and I seriously could not recommend them enough! First and foremost, she's a really kind and fun person, and her personality makes her really easy to be around. We felt like we were just hanging out with a friend, which made our shots come out in a really genuine way.

Christina shot both our engagement shots, as well as our wedding. For our engagement shots, she was super flexible in meeting us where we wanted (we ultimately chose Lake Tahoe). Even though she was carrying a huge camera bag and not the biggest hiker, she was willing to hike miles to get to a semi-private beach. Along the way, we talked about all sorts of things and had the best time :) She was so kind to our dogs as well!

Christina also offered to come shoot our welcome reception the night before our wedding, as well as an intimate gathering at our home -- just because she happened to be in town. That was completely above and beyond what we expected, and we are so grateful to have some beautiful shots from those nights as well!

And lastly, of course, the wedding day - Christina was tireless all day, running around our massive venue. Both she and her assistant Sarah brought such positive energy throughout the entire day, and we're really happy that they were able to be a big part of our special day.

Hiring Christina as our wedding photographer was easily the best decision we made for our wedding! When I saw Christina's smiling face on my wedding morning I immediately felt all my stress melt away, she is simply that great! Her photography skills are unmatched- every single photo that she's taken (engagement shoots and wedding photos), are a work of art! Her team is so wonderful, they were some of the best parts of the wedding day, and at the end of the night taking a tequila shot with them (upon my instances) is one of my favorite memories. Christina is honestly more than just simply the best photographer- the presence that she brings is incredible and is exactly what you want on your wedding day.

Also, her turn around time is insanely FAST! Within a few days of our engagement shoot and the wedding we can first rounds of photos, each one more gorgeous than the last.

...to describe how happy we are that we chose Christina as photographer for our elopement. I gravitated towards Christina because she offered film photography, and from our first conversation I knew this was going to be the perfect fit. My (now) husband and I eloped in Palm Springs from the east coast, so I wanted someone familiar with the area who could help provide options for locations. I shared our hotel and ceremony plans with Christina, and from there she suggested some locations around town we could add to the mix. I was a bit nervous, because my husband is camera shy and was not thrilled about being in front of a camera for so many hours, but Christina made the whole day SO much fun! We truly had a blast, and all our family and friends say these are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. I may be biased, but I'd have to agree!!

Christina came highly recommended by our day of coordinator, and had shot a lot of weddings at our venue. We booked her pre-pandemic and she was so kind and professional when we had to postpone our wedding a full year. I felt a little silly posing at times, but trust her guidance and instructions because they make sense when you see the final results.
