Longer version: When we initially hired Marlene, we were unsure what church would be willing to host our wedding (due to COVID restrictions) and which other musicians would be involved. Due to ongoing restrictions in Chicago, we had booked a backup church in Indiana. Marlene was tremendously flexible, reassured us that she has performed at many weddings and she would most certainly deliver a beautiful result for us regardless of where the ceremony actually took place. While we had already selected most of the musical pieces with our priest, Marlene always reassured us that she was available to help with planning if needed. We really appreciated knowing that she had done this many times and that we could count on her during crunch time.

We eventually decided to hold the wedding in Indiana and Marlene again reassured us that this was not a problem. Prior to hiring Marlene (and pre-COVID), we had initially planned to have a small choir perform during our wedding mass. This idea was temporarily scrapped due to COVID restrictions, but once these began to ease Marlene suggested that she knew of an excellent choir who might be willing to perform with her if we still wanted to do that. Marlene helped us negotiate pricing with them and also assisted with overall coordination with the choir and the organist on the day of the ceremony. Our priest is very kind but a bit forgetful and sometimes skips around in the usual order of the mass. While other cantors may have been thrown off by this, Marlene’s professionalism and experience really showed as she followed him seamlessly and led the other musicians. The end result was absolutely stunning. Marlene’s heavenly voice backed by the choir and organ sounded gorgeous in the historic church. All of our guests were raving about how beautiful the music was. Marlene truly helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect.

We give our highest recommendation to Marlene and know she will provide exceptionally beautiful music for any event. Her confidence, poise, talent, and no-nonsense can-do attitude were very much appreciated during our hectic planning process.
