Jon was so great!! I cannot recommend him enough. He played live piano music at the ceremony, played the sax at the cocktail hour, and was the DJ. Each part was perfect! He played the ceremony songs we requested with no problem, everyone enjoyed the live sax music, and his DJing was exactly what we envisioned. He was not your typical cheesy DJ. I don't know how, but Jon captured our style in music perfectly. Not only was he professional, but also very friendly and easy to work with. I was very worried about the music and DJ part of the wedding, and he couldn't have made us happier! Thank you so much Jon!

Jon was great! He played piano at our ceremony, learned a new song for my walk down the aisle, and even provided a mic and speakers so our guests could hear our ceremony. He then played live sax for our outdoor cocktail hour and DJed our indoor reception. Our dance floor was packed most of the night. I never thought I'd be able to afford live ceremony music and a DJ, but luckily I found Jon and he provides a complete wedding music package. And he's easy to work with and professional!

Jon was amazing on our big day (he happily did everything from playing live music, to DJing, to MCing). His live saxophone during the ceremony was truly special and the mix of live music and DJing during the rest of the event was perfect for our crowd. Most importantly he knew how to get everyonne dancing at the end of the night! He was extremely professional and truly a pleasure to work with! I only wish we had another event he could MC.

Jonathan Lorentz served as “impresario” for the entertainment at my daughter’s wedding in May, 2015 at the Currier Museum in Manchester, New Hampshire. We could not have been happier with either the process of these arrangements or the performance of the musicians. Jonathan patiently helped us to define our specifications and then found the ideal people to provide piano and string music throughout the evening. From 6 until 11, there was beautiful music, a delightful mix of classical and classic pop, exactly what we’d wished for. I was not aware of breaks without coverage. The attention paid to the acoustics and the selections allowed conversation to continue and the flow of the evening to be enhanced. Emcee services were included and delivered competently and warmly. Jonathan and his musicians, Joe Deleault on keyboard and emcee and Gary Hodges on cello and his violinist (whose name I do not know, unfortunately) share my highest recommendation with Jonathan.

Pros: Jon is a very kind, laid back guy. Our guests & family enjoyed talking with him. He had a smile on his face & was very approachable. He made nice with our other vendors & even gave them a hand with certain parts of the night. Overall, Jon played some nice music & had a great light display during the reception part of the night.

Cons: There were some mistakes during the wedding. Unfortunately, some of these mistakes really took away from our wedding experience. When I hired Jon, he assured me that he was very detail-oriented & would be calling me at least 1 week before the wedding to review all the timelines/details/etc. We never spoke on the phone after our initial talk in August 2015 when I booked him (the wedding was 13 months later). I believe that if he had followed through with that call, some of these big mistakes would not have happened:
1. He did not play our recessional. We walked down the aisle in silence. This was the absolute worst part of the wedding & something I have been deeply upset about since. Jon explained that his battery died and he didn't have a back-up.
2. The music played outdoors was hard to hear, which was a concern that I had brought up through email & wanted to discuss prior to the wedding, but we never did.
3. Jon did not entirely stick to the schedule. We and/or a family friend had to prompt him throughout the night to start different parts of the schedule (speeches, dances, reception, etc.)

Overall, Jon was a good DJ. I would recommend him, but not for DIY weddings where you are relying on the DJ to MC the guests through the schedule, or for places that require battery-packs for music.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
