Mike Ballard DJ’d my wedding reception on December 28th, 2024. I had come to find Mike through Google searching popular wedding DJs in the city of Louisville and sure am glad that I did! Mike is an extremely easy-going guy and, from our initial introductory call onwards, it was obvious Mike understood and shared in our vision. Communication was straightforward and no hassle leading up to the event.

Mike handled setup and breakdown of all equipment the evening of. He also incorporated tasteful soft white uplighting around the dance floor area which perfectly complimented the décor of our venue and really brought an upscaled look to the event. Throughout the night, Mike was extremely professional and courteous – checking in with the Bride and Groom as appropriate regarding the procession of events. He handled introductions and announcements while also perfectly curating an evening playlist which incorporated both the folk/indie rock tunes specifically requested by the couple as well as some up-tempo “crowd pleasers” once the energy picked up a bit and more bodies found their ways to the dance floor.

The bride and I sat together the next morning and specifically reflected on how impressed we were with the music/MC setup the night prior – from to start to finish, just an awesome experience working with a seasoned pro! I could not recommend Mike enough for your next event – I will definitely be giving him a call next time I am in need and would encourage you to do the same if you’re looking for a no sweat, top end experience.

Lightwave went above and beyond to completely elevate our wedding day far beyond our expectations! If you’re trying to throw a party where everyone is out of their seats and on the dance floor then this is the company for you. Mike and Prince made the whole experience INCREDIBLE! The lighting, lasers, sound quality, and song selection completely transformed the atmosphere of the venue. You could tell these two are very passionate about their job and know what they are doing with their decades worth of DJing experience. They brought our vision together and made choosing our song selection so easy with their structured process. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about them. Mike and Prince are super nice guys and the compliments on the music were flowing all night and even a few days later after everyone recovered. I HIGHLY recommend.

I don't even know where to start with Mike. He was such an amazing vendor and dj from the moment we first spoke at our initial consultation. He was so patient with us during our engagement and really listened to what we wanted. He even went out of his way to find a percussionist to play along with him since we wanted a live musician as well. He killed it at our reception and even got there that morning to mic up people who were in the ceremony. He was so passionate and detailed. Our wedding ended up being about an hour behind schedule, so Mike had to combine the "early night dancing" with the "late night dancing" and he did a phenomenal job mixing the two to where all ages loved it! I couldn't recommend Mike more. He was just so patient, caring, and passionate. Everything you want in a vendor working the day of your wedding, he was just easy, and I knew he had everything under control!

DJ Dave made our reception perfect! The energy he brings keeps people dancing all night long! Michael was amazing to work with and answered any questions we had along the way. HIGHLY recommend this company if you want your wedding reception to be poppin all night long!! Thank you!!

I will recommend Mike Ballard and Lightwave Entertainment to EVERY single person that I know. Mike is the nicest guy in the world, and incredibly easy to work with! He is incredibly passionate about what he does, and it is evident in the way he gets a party going! There were times during the planning stages when I felt Mike was more excited about our wedding than my then fiance and I were. He engaged with the crowd, danced along himself, and made my wedding reception even better than I could have hoped for! I danced for 4 straight hours at my wedding, every single song kept the dance floor alive. Moral of the story: Hire Mike RIGHT NOW, you will not be disappointed!

Mike Ballard is the BEST DJ in the Louisville area! He did our wedding ceremony and reception in June 2017 at Farnsley-Moremen Landing. The dance floor was FULL all night and I had the time of my life!! My guests STILL rave about what a fun time it was to this day!

Mike Ballard is not only a great DJ, he is also a musician, which I think is what makes him a great at DJ'ing. He is a wonderful guy, too. All of my guests who interacted with him really liked him AND he personally brought me my first drink of the night (which ended up being my only drink because I was having so much fun!) He takes his job very seriously and goes above and beyond to make your day special.

There was one point where our song for the garter toss wouldn't play, but he handled it like a pro. He handled the situation so smoothly that no one even knew any different!

I seriously cannot say enough good things about the service we got from Lightwave Entertainment. There are just no words that describe it.

Mike Ballard with Lightwave Entertainment was the BEST! One of my biggest fears on my wedding day was that I was going to pick the wrong DJ and no one would be out on the dance floor. I could not have made a better decision, when I chose Mike, because that was not the case at all. The dance floor was packed. Everyone had so much fun. We got married 2 months ago and everyone is still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding.

Lightwave entertainment did such a great job at playing all different genres of music for everyone to enjoy. His mood lighting really made the dance floor seem alive and comfortable. He had everyone moving and did a phenomenal job at making the wedding flow from ceremony to dinner to dance floor and all in between. I would recommend him to anyone that wants to have a fun time!

We hired Mike as our DJ/MC for the wedding and he was awesome! He worked with us from day one to understand what we want and was very accommodating. On the day of, he showed up early and brought all kinds of top notch equipments. He made our day SO Much fun and we danced all night! He even got my family to dance, which I thought was impossible since they never danced at any party I've been to. Mike knew how to read the audience and made sure to keep the dance floor packed and we all had such a good time. I highly recommend him and also the photo booth service that he offers.

My husband and I met Mike at a bridal show and that day we decided we had to have him! We do not regret it! We got his top package and it was so reasonably priced! He played music for everyone, he was super friendly, and he kept the party going! I can honestly say I was surprised as to how many people were on the dance floor the whole time! He worked really well with my other vendors too to keep the day running smooth!
We got married June 15 and we are still getting compliments on how awesome our DJ was! I would highly recommend and I hope I attend other events where he is the DJ because I know it will be the best time!
