Unprofessional

Zero to Ten, DO NOT recommend.
If I could give a zero, I would. Chef Q, aka Marquist Brown is a scammer. He only accepts method of payments that are equivalent to cash (Zelle, CashApp) so there's no recourse for you to retrieve money back from your bank. We hired him on 1/31/26 via Thumbtack to cater for our family reunion this past 6/13/2026. Marquist stopped answering / returning calls when we were trying to finalize our catering plans. As we were approaching our event date and due to lack of response from myself and other committee members, I engaged Thumbtack get resolution. Upon Thumbtack involvement, Marquist claimed he misunderstood and was under the impression that our event canceled. He tried to blame it on his "assistant" which there isn't an assistant. He operates solo. Thumbtack gave him the opportunity to resolve the issue which I will attach their communication. As a result, his account has been disabled and is no longer able to advertise on their platform. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE AWARE.
