Born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri, Read Klos is a 2nd generation jeweler/gemologist. Read learned the jewelry business under his father’s supervision. He attended the Gemological Institute of America located in Santa Monica, California. Once he received his degree in Gemology, Read thought, “While I am out in California, why not apply for a job on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills?”He landed a job as the Head Gemologist for one of the world’s finest antique and estate jewelry firms, Frances Klein, on Rodeo Drive. During his career, he helped in assisting clients such as Sly Stallone, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, and Rob Reiner just to name a few.
