These two mother and daughter photographers are the absolute best! I can't thank them enough for their hard work and coming all the way to Michigan for us for my first daughter, (Matt & Brandi). A year later they came to Bloomington for my other daughter’s wedding (Travis & Kiara). Two daughters, two entirely different weddings. Kathy and Strephanie take different shots at different angles - two for the price of one! Ask me to send you samples of the books I created for them! I’m so thankful they captured their day in their unique way. I would say both my girls are very much into fashion and makeup, and they were over the top at the pictures they have. From the engagement photos, to the whole wedding day, and even an AFTER the big day bridal shoot, I can honestly say we are more than satisfied. So glad the photos are NOT like everyone else’s. Kathy and Stephanie work so well together all without saying a word. Having a dual team taking pictures ensured every moment was captured just right! We ended up going with Kathy and her daughter Stephanie as a backup since our first photographer flaked out on us. For $1500 we had both Kathy and her daughter shooting pictures of our wedding. The package included 3 pen drives of digital photos, no edits, just the raw files, which was fine with us since we own our own editing software. I must give Kathy credit for her ability to organize our large group and get every photo on our list of family photos to be shot. However, it is clear after reviewing the digital files that her daughter Stephanie is the better photographer of the two. Stephanie has a better eye for composition than Kathy. Unfortunately, I am pretty disappointed in the quality of the majority of the photographs. Almost the majority of the photos we received are out of focus or too closely cropped. Both Kathy and her daughter bragged about their ability to shoot manually without using auto-focus. However, this left us with a bunch of slightly out of focus photos, especially of couples shots, wedding party staged scenes, and family group photo shots. The only good shot of our entire wedding party with both sides of the family is fuzzy all over! And all multiple shots of that one scene are slightly out of focus! But what really irritated me was the fact that the majority of all our wedding party photos in front of the fireplace are so closely shot, you can't see any of the beautiful wedding decorations surrounding the wedding party, and several really nice couples photos are so closely cropped that the tips of people's heads are outside of the frame! Not to mention that both Kathy and her daughter both had tripods, and yet almost every single family or bridal party group photo was crooked! She is NOT the professional photographer she talks herself up to be. I've seen better composition and layout from high school students (and I was an art teacher for 3 years). We did get a lot of photos and had the convenience of 2 photographers covering the entire wedding but the end product is mediocre at best.
