My husband and I were recently married at The Mayo Hotel. Karen and her string quartet came recommended from the event coordinator. Karen was very nice and personable. She was also flexible with my price range and was able to come up with a creative solution to ensure what I wanted could happen. Since I was planning my wedding at a distance, I didn't have an opportunity to hear her play, and I wish I would have. I think my vision was different than what she actually provides. Overall, the sound wasn't what I was expecting. As I was walking down the aisle, I remember thinking it didn't sound as full as I thought it would, and the result wasn't impressive.
However, communication was easy, and I chose songs ahead of time and confirmed those choices as the day approached. The selection of available songs is small, but I wanted mostly classical music, which is what she specializes in. This was just my experience, and it could have been due to the other string players with her that evening (they change depending on availability), but I may have gone a different direction given what I heard on the day of the wedding.
