About
Just the Place is a wedding venue featuring a large red barn, built in 1900, and has a very rustic and authentic look and feel. You can still see the hand hewn beams and tree trunks supporting the structure. The west side of the barn opens out to a large patio and a big view of the Delaware river valley. A beautiful vine covered pavilion stands as the backdrop for your ceremony on the hill, surrounded by 40 acres of natural Kansas prairie. Perry Lake is only one mile away to the south, with a boat ramp and camp grounds less than 2 miles away.
The fully furnished farmhouse was built in the 1920's and has the original oak floor and plaster and lath walls throughout the main floor. There are two bedrooms and one full bathroom for you and/or a few of your guests to stay overnight. There is also a finished attic room ideal as a large dressing room.
We only host one event at a time, so your needs will be our only focus during your event. Our wedding families have the entire weekend, Friday through Sunday, to relax and enjoy this special time. Time is our gift to you as you prepare with decorating and a rehearsal on Friday, ceremony on Saturday, and dancing the night away without worry of clean up ,as you'll have Sunday for sleeping in late and having your closest family and friends return for breakfast and help you gather your things.
