History
The Hermitage-Rippy Estate was built by Mr. H.A. Rippy, Jr. in 1986. As a child, he had spent a significant amount of time studying and admiring President Andrew Jackson’s life. Mr. Rippy dreamed of owning a home like that of President Jackson’s Hermitage. That dream was realized when he became a successful businessman and insurance executive. Mr. Rippy passed away in 1998, and the family home has now become a representation of Southern hospitality for many Alabama couples on their wedding day.
