She is able to create post-wedding paintings based on photographs from the event or, depending on location, can paint live at the wedding. Hazel usually works in oil paint but can switch to acrylic if necessary for the situation.

To begin the process, you would decide if you want a post-wedding painting or a live day-of painting.

Post-Wedding Painting

You would send Hazel photos from your wedding and she would suggest which one would make the best painting. Hazel would create a painting using the photo as a reference. This process takes a few weeks, and then a couple months to fully dry. If you have a shorter deadline than that, Hazel can switch to acrylic paint or use fast-drying mediums with oil to rush the process. The painting will be varnished and ready to hang. Hazel is also able to have pieces framed before they are shipped, upon request.

Day-of Live Painting

In some cases Hazel can paint live at your wedding. This depends on location and timing. Hazel would bring all necessary materials and set up an easel. She would paint for the majority of the event, up to 5 hours. Guests love to observe the process. Hazel would work from a photograph taken at a time that is convenient for the couple, so there is no need for them to pose for a long period. Typically Hazel would take the painting home and let it dry, then varnish it and ship it. However, if the couple would like to take home the painting immediately and it needs to be dry quickly, she will use acrylic paint instead of oil. This will be discussed ahead of time so Hazel can establish the best process for you.
