Ginger Dickey did a beautiful job in providing hair styling for my March 2014 wedding. She was very professional, on-time, and provided on site service at the hotel; which made the morning fun and relaxing. Ginger did both up dos for the bride and bridesmaids and styled the mothers and the flower girl. I was very happy with her service and with the run through appointment I had as well. Her styles were contemporary and not overly stiff (no pageant girl hair!) I was an out of town bride from NYC and wasn't able to do a run through until the week of the wedding, which went beautifully. I also had purchased clip in hair extensions in NYC and brought with me to New Orleans, which Ginger put in beautifully. I received many compliments and my hair stayed put throughout the day. I would highly recommend Ginger to anyone.

Unfortunately, I can echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer. I booked Ginger a year out from my wedding date. Approximately four months before my wedding, she emailed cancelling on me so she could book another wedding outside the county. Her email stated, in part: "I sincerely apologize and am going to be completely honest. I have a big business opportunity to do my first wedding out of the country with some big potential clients. This wedding does happen to be [ your wedding] weekend." Sadly, I would not recommend booking her for a local New Orleans wedding.

After signing a contract with Ginger and reserving my wedding date, Ginger backed out of my wedding and our Agreement so she could work another wedding the day after mine in Cabo that she agreed to AFTER she received my executed contract. The contract states "This contract is binding unless both parties agree to cancel". There was no discussion between myself and Ginger - Simply an email letting me know that she could no longer work my wedding, despite our contract. She offered lukewarm apologies and a suggested replacement but clearly did not care that she was breaking her contract with me so that she could go on a trip to Cabo. This lack of professionalism and maturity is not what I would expect from an experienced wedding vendor from New Orleans. I would advise any brides searching for a hair stylist for your wedding to steer clear of Ginger Dickey (Hair By Ginger). If backing out of a wedding contract comes so easily to her, I would hate to take that gamble on the day of my wedding.
