Raye is absolutely amazing. From the first time we met her at our engagement session throughout the whole planning process, everything went as smoothly as possible. She's responsive and even calms anxious brides' nerves. The pictures that she captures throughout the night are beyond gorgeous and something that my husband and I will cherish for years to come. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone!!

Raye rocks! All my nerves were in an uproar.. what to wear... make up questions, posed vs natural... she made us feel like old friends and the rest came naturally after that! We had so much fun at our e-session! Can't wait to hang out again at our big day!

Gillette Portrait Arts represents both quality and value, two characteristics that were important to me when selecting a photographer for my wedding. Raye and Christie bring an immense amount of experience, which was clearly evident in the photos they took. Moreover, they clearly were well versed in working together, which made everything flow seamlessly. On top of it all, Raye and Christie have great personalities and were so pleasant to work with, particularly during what can be a very stressful and long day. Looking forward to working with them again!!!

My husband and I knew up front we were going to have a large wedding due to the size of our large families. A high quality photographer was at the top of our list in terms of budgeting, but we didn't have oodles of money to spend. Raye worked with us to give us the beautiful photography we wanted while staying in our budget. Both she and Kristie were lots of fun to work with, getting even my somber brother-in-law to crack some genuine smiles! They were completely on board with what we wanted while also giving us their immeasurable expertise to pull together some wonderful shots. We haven't seen the full final set of pictures yet, but based on our engagement session and the initial pictures posted to their blog, I know we will have wonderful mementos to treasure for years to come. :)

Raye was so fantastic for our wedding, and our pictures are gorgeous! She was incredibly flexible and even was available to meet me at my DC job. We had Raye for the whole day, starting with bride & bridesmaid pictures, while Jillian was with the groomsmen doing a photo shoot by their hotel (which they had so much fun with goofing around, we have some hilarious photos!). Both were at the church for the ceremony, and for the pictures afterward. They were unobtrusive and did not distract from the ceremony, and after the ceremony did a fantastic job of wrangling large groups of our families for pictures. We had a great time with them at the Baltimore Zoo as well -- we took some serious and funny bridal party pictures, which turned out so fantastic and fun. My husband and I went with Raye to a few spots around the Zoo's property, and she was so excited about it! We have amazing, artistic, and classic photos from the lion cages, lion statues, an ancient tree, and other overgrown areas that are no longer in use. She even climbed up the bars of the lion cage on top of the concrete box to get some overhead shots which are some of our favorites! She was additionally so excited about taking pictures with the penguin, and we had such a great time. Our digital pictures were delivered within a few weeks of our wedding, and we have had such a great time looking through them and reliving it!

Kristie from gillette portrait arts was our wedding photographer and I am beyond happy. She was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She made sure to get all of the shots we wanted and the photos turned out beautifully!

To keep costs lower we decided to have one photographer and just order the CD of photos with rights. I've been making albums and ordering prints from online retailers and it's worked out great.

I met Raye when I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding, and she was the talented, easy going photographer shooting my friend's wedding. When we were planning our destination wedding, this same friend inquired Raye's connections in Charleston, not expecting Raye to jump at the opportunity to travel and photograph our wedding10 hours away! We were so flattered she remembered us and was interested in being a part of our big day. Our engagement session was just a taste of what an amazing and talented photographer we had partnered with. And daring, as she wouldn't let a climbing challenge get in the way of a good photo op. The results of our engagement session were breathtaking, I'm sure I will shed tears when I see our wedding photos.

We don't even actually have our pictures back yet since our wedding was just this past weekend, but Raye & the assistant Kristie, were both amazing. They were super easy to work with, everything felt relatively natural, and they were actually very supportive. It felt more like buddies helping us out with the pictures than a professional pair of photographers and I KNOW that lightened our moods and probably improved the quality of the pictures all around. They have both posted a few sneak peak images that we have loved as well.

THE best. We don't even have our pictures back and we are already convinced this is the best pick out there. Kristie Cooper is BADASS! She's fun, creative and she literally RAN from photo op to photo op up and down hills to get the best moments on film.

Raye (and her assistant) were beyond wonderful. We made some last minute changes, including adding a second photographer a few days before the wedding, and Raye just made it work. She was a joy to work with, somehow managed to get the 8 loud, crazy guys to take picture after picture, and kept me calm when things got a little crazy. Raye was not only a great photographer; she was like having a friend there by my side the entire day. I would absolutely recommend Gillette Portrait Arts for any photo needs, especially weddings. (**side note- their prices are significantly lower than most in the area. I searched for weeks before finding Gillette and am so thankful I did)
