The Gekko sushi restaurant (midtown Atlanta) opened by 11/2010, we took over by 11/2013, and closed by 08/2017.
We tried to tell all our customer that how difficult for us to make this desicion. The reason is there are too many competitions around us, just in 2016 and 2017, there were almost 10 sushi restaurants opened in 3 miles, also we are too close to ponce market, after they opened, our sales dropped almost 20%...other reason, maybe like no parking(we told the owner milliion times), and no cable for that property, and high rent...
Anyway, we still need to survive, we believe the food trucks can bring us other opportunity, since we got our first food truck in 11/2016, now we have 2 trucks already, in future, we hope we could have other trucks that serve not just sushi hibachi, maybe burger, taco, thai, or noodle and more. Sooner, when people talk about "GEKKO" we are not just a sushi, we are a group! we have a dream, everyday we are fighting for making that dream to comes true
My family and I, we want to apologize for all the inconvience and really really appreicate for all your support for last 4 years! We will definitely see you soon!
