Hi!

I'm Shandell, the one woman operation behind Flour Petal Cakes.

Growing up I always had a passion for baking, thankful to my parents for gifting me an Easy Bake Oven at a young age. I attended The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, Ca and graduated in 2013 with my associates in baking and pastry. I moved to Los Angeles and worked for some of the top cake studios and bakeries in the area creating giant wedding cake and cake for celebrities birthday and events. You can even spot me in the background of "Ridiculous Cakes" on TLC and making cupcakes for a Food Network Video. I have 10+ years of baking and custom cake experience.

In 2020 I moved back to my hometown, Exeter and started Flour Petal Cakes. In 2023 the business expanded into a commercial kitchen space located in Exeter as well. I'm so passionate about my work and I love my job, my clients, my community, and I love to make and also eat cake!
