Hi, I'm Ellen Scher and I'm a romantic at heart who promises to make sure the new chapter of your love starts off perfectly.

My favorite thing is helping couples with planning to make sure their wedding script and vows are perfect and the experience is as they envisioned. I can ‘hand hold’ as much as is wanted or not all all - it’s your call. Each couple is different and I am sensitive and respectful of that.​

I am proud to be featured in the forthcoming National Geographic book, OUT IN THE WORLD, as an LGBTQIA+ inclusive officiant who celebrates all love.

I'm a New York native who traveled to California in a VW bus with my husband and daughter in 1976 ... and never left. I love living in Monterey Bay—although I still prefer east coast bagels and pizza.

I love all things glitter, family, gardening, relaxing on the beach, and exploring the world.

As a full-time wedding officiant, you're my priority and I'm always here to help.

Thank you, Ellen Scher!

Ellen truly helped make our elopement day extra special. From the moment we booked with her, Ellen was responsive, helping us with local area details, suggestions on location and photographer, and made us feel extremely comfortable coming from out of town for our elopement. At the ceremony, Ellen was incredibly kind and so generous with her time and company. I could not recommend Ellen any higher. She is lovely and will make your day a memorable success.

Honest & Kind

Ellen went above and beyond for our elopement. We had a lot of questions from start to finish and she was very knowledgeable. One thing I noticed was, if she didn’t know something, she was eager to find out for us. We loved her timely communication- it made us feel that much more comfortable. When the day finally came everything went smoothly due to her direction and suggestions. She even helped our (not so tech savy) moms find their way back to the hotel!! It was truly such an amazing experience overall. Thank you Ellen, for everything! I will post our photo on here when we get them back 🤍

Made it even more special

So glad we went with Ellen! Her calm, pleasant, loving demeanor was exactly the right note for our private wedding on our balcony at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur. It was NYE and the weather was iffy and Ellen was infinitely flexible - adjusting to changing plans day of to avoid rain. She was responsive, professional, and kind throughout the entire process. Her words were perfect and she made it even more special. Thanks, Ellen.
