Melissa Herceg is a flutist versed in many musical styles and experienced in a broad palette of performing experiences. She performs primarily as a chamber musician, and is equally comfortable in orchestral and church music milleux.
Melissa performs as a duo with her cellist husband, Robert. The two perform with clarinetist Richard Board and hornist Luke Zyla as the Julia-Ann Ensemble. She sings as a member of the Parkersburg Choral Society. She played flute and piccolo with the River Cities Symphony for twelve seasons, and has played for numerous productions and performances at the Smoot Theatre, Parkersburg Actors Guild, area churches, and many other venues.
Melissa has maintained a private flute studio in the Parkersburg area for 23 years, and has taught classroom general music, as well as elementary band and chorus. She serves as assistant conductor of the Smoot Youth Band. She currently serves as the president of tne board of directors of the Parkersburg Choral Society, and is a past public relations chair (president) of the West Virginia All-State Children's Chorus.
