The Double Tree was a perfect place for our wedding block where our guests stayed for our downtown wedding. Working with the staff and managers at the DoubleTree was so easy and they were very responsive to changes in our block even up to the week before the wedding. All of our guests loved their time there, and the location was perfect for access to downtown Memphis.

Mr.Wordlaw very helpful in our planning of the event. Love the service that was given while there. A plus customer service.

The best place ever

This Place has everything you need the menu is excellent! Most of all you access to Friday's! after the wedding rehersal we all wnt to get a bite to eat!

The Double Tree was the hotel of choice for my out of town guests.. The location was perfect and the staff was very accommodating..Also the quality of the rooms were excellent. I would suggest this hotel to anyone..

Make sure you work with Randall (no one else!). He will take care of you! Make sure you do RSVP and give the exact number for food. We paid for 50 people that didn't show up and we could've saved $2000 on food if we didn't pay for those 50. The Canal Street is the menu we picked and it was DELICIOUS!! We also did specialty drinks and they were good and strong! We had our ceremony and reception here and they flipped the room while we took pictures and the guests had cocktail hour in the hall. It was so convenient because no one had to leave to drive to the reception. We had 200 guests and spent $14,000 which covered buffet and alcohol (we had wine, walk me downs and long island ice teas) and there was plenty of food and alcohol for everyone there was plenty left(only wish we paid for less so we didn't waste our money because we couldn't take the left over food or alcohol)

We were really excited to work with The DoubleTree when my husband and I first started the reception planning process. The ballroom was a great space for our small reception and the cost fit perfectly into our budget. We began working with a woman named Hope. Things seemed to be going well and Hope really appeared to know her stuff. One day I called Hope to ask her a few questions and (without ever being informed) was told that my husband and I would be working with a different wedding coordinator; as Hope no longer worked at The DoubleTree. For a short while we worked with a woman named Amanda and then again, we had to switch coordinators. Our last coordinator was Jana. After hearing about Jana's previous experience, both my husband and I felt at ease about this new transition. I will say that during the rest of the planning process, Jana did a wonderful job of answering any questions we had and responded in a timely manner. We did run into a few problems with the wedding room block; in particular with the online setup. At times, guests were unable to book online.

When I met with Jana to make our final payment and go over all of the last minute details, we agreed to meet the day before the wedding so my bridesmaids and I could set up the decorations. Jana said she would meet me as she would be bringing a few things The DoubleTree was allowing us to use during the reception. Once I arrived at the DoubleTree to set up, I was greeted by my bridesmaids, a couple of close friends who had volunteered to help and the head of security. No Jana; which was odd but I didn't question it at the time. Although we didn't have the things Jana was going to bring for us to use during the reception, everything else was in place.

On the day of the wedding, I was very excited to see how everything pulled together at the reception. Before arriving at the reception, my husband and I were informed by the Matron of Honor that we had extra guests in attendance. As to be expected, I was stressed out and furious. My husband and I were hoping to have a chance to meet with Jana to discuss what to do about the extra guests. Once we arrived at The DoubleTree, we were expecting Jana to greet us. This did not happen. Instead, my husband's parents happened to know another employee from the DoubleTree and asked her to inform Jana that my husband and I were at the reception wishing to speak with her. My husband and I first saw Jana a few moments before we were announced to the guests at the reception. Obviously, we did not have a chance to speak about the extra guests.

Once we began eating at the reception, I asked my bridesmaids what happened with the extra guests that showed up. I was told that my bridesmaids and a close friend set up an extra table, placed the linens, chair sashes, etc. to make accommodations for the guests. They also spoke directly to the catering manager about the amount of food available for the extra guests and were willing to give up their own food, if necessary (at one point the catering manager told my bridesmaids that there may not be enough food for everyone to eat). I'd like to know where Jana was during all of this.

At the end of the day, everyone was able to eat.

Later, I noticed the vases for the bridesmaid's bouquets were different from the other vases. I asked my Matron of Honor about the vases and she explained to me that the florist forgot to bring vases. As a result, one of our guests asked if the DoubleTree could provide vases for the bouquets. One of The DoubleTree staff members handed dirty vases and a rag to that same guest.

The flow of the reception was somewhat monitored by myself and our amazing DJ. There are no words to describe how livid I am to know that my guests at the wedding had to set up a table for unexpected guests, speak to the catering manager about extra food and clean out dirty vases. That is BEYOND unprofessional! Where the hell was the coordinator?! I am extremely thankful for our fantastic wedding party and guests who made the reception a success because the staff at The DoubleTree fell short of that.

To say the least, my husband and I are very disappointed with the service we received at The DoubleTree and as a result, do not recommend using The DoubleTree Downtown.

I was not very happy with this hotel. There were several different issues. First is that I had a hard time getting anyone to even set me up with blocked rooms. I coundn't get anyone to return my calls. Then they continued to mess up the reservations time and time again. I also booked a suite for me to stay in for the 2 nights before the wedding. The suite was ALL WRONG and the staff was not helpful at all. They actually seemed quite annoyed with me as the GUEST. Then they over charged us for parking and were not helpful in getting this resolved. They had also told us that we would receive Hilton points into our account for each room that was booked under our block which we never received and they still won't give to us! DO NOT USE THEM!!!

I had a wedding group blocked and they gave me information on how my guests could book. The eEvents site did not work for MOST of the people. I called many times to see if someone could fix it - no one would ever return my calls. I had to tell my guests to go ahead and book through normal channels. I then attempted to cancel the block only to get rude responses about how I would have cancellation charges and everything else. And yes, they did charge me, and no, they never refunded me even though it was their site that wasn't working. This wasn't the cheapest hotel in the area either - I could have easily booked decent rooms for less money, but I thought with the Doubletree I could expect quality. It was the opposite: rude, unprofessional, non-returned call after call, attitudes, slowness, and anger, were all I got. The best part of this all is the fact that I myself work for Hilton (at the corporate), so the fact that they would present such grief to another team member still boggles my mind. I highly recommend that anyone and everyone opt for a different venue and a different place for your wedding guests to stay. You truly don't receive the caliber of service that you would expect from a Hilton branded hotel chain. Someone ended up getting shot there a few months later, too. So it's also unsafe.
