My name is Darnell Lemons and I am a Jacksonville, FL based photographer at dkl Weddings whose personal journey leading to wedding photography was birthed modestly over 15 years ago from being the person in my family that would take pictures while on vacation. This began a journey filled with a passion to hone my personal skills to take better photos.

Over the years I photographed numerous events which led to an opportunity to shoot my first wedding. It was a success. The bride and groom loved my work and I also enjoyed capturing their special day. After shooting another wedding produced another satisfied bride and groom as well as myself fully enjoying the opportunity to serve couples in this capacity I decided to explore the possibilities of wedding photography.

I would consider my style of photography a blend of photojournalism and traditional. Photojournalism because I work to capture the feel and emotion of the wedding (the time leading up to the wedding ceremony, during the ceremony, and afterward.) Traditional because I will also coordinate posed pictures with the bride, groom, and the wedding party. I arrive with ideas of shots yet I am always open to including whatever shots the bride and groom may want. After all it is their big day.

dkl Weddings Photography was founded from a passion to capture weddings through the media format of photography. I appreciate the opportunity afforded to capture key moments on a couples’ special day, providing them with emotion evoking beautiful imagery that serves as continual reminders of their commitment.
