I would highly recommend DJ Express. I met them at the Pink Bridal show and they were very willing to work with me. They were very flexible with me getting songs that I wanted to have played at the reception and the DJ was fantastic! I would highly recommend them!

They were on time and very professional. I was kind of scattered and I didn't have a set playlist together for them.... but they took what I gave them and ran with it!!! Everything was very smooth and everyone had a great time! They read the crowd and play the song that is right for the moment.

We would not recommend this company to anyone. We had a signed contract with him from 11/2013 for a wedding to take place on 06/2014 at a venue he had played before many times (according to the woman who handled his business). He was very expensive. He was sent a playlist and all the information he asked for in the time limit he asked for it (members of wedding, when to introduce, songs to play, song list, requested songs) He was given the down payment at the time we signed the contract and the rest of the payment on the wedding day. We did not tip him as he was awful. It rained the day of the wedding and he wanted to set up a different place than the one we had already decided in case of rain. He shows up late and wants to set up a different place. He was told no, we wanted people to be able to dance and hear the music. Don't know if he was pouting over this or what. But after the harpist stopped playing through the beginning of the buffet. He did not start playing until a good hour later when he was to start at 5:00. He didn't play the songs in order and some of the songs the bride had asked for he didn't play at all even though they were requested again and again. He didn't even contact the bride until about 3 days before the wedding to even speak with her and didn't tell her that he was going to change everything. In fact, he did not obey go by his own contract. He did not appear to know how to make introductions or how we wanted things done. The poorest DJ we have ever heard. Will never hire this person again and would recommend you don't either. By the time the reception starts you want to relax and dance and this guy was all over the place, starting and stopping whenever he felt like it.

I would not recommend Stephen at D.J. Express.

I booked Stephen Bailey on the recommendation of my caterer, and I booked him about 9 months before my wedding. After he was booked and received partial payment for his services, he was completely unresponsive to my phone calls and questions. In fact, about 4 weeks before the wedding, I began calling him on a bi-weekly basis—since I had no confirmation of his attendance at the event and no idea what information he needed from me.

I had a fairly complex set-up, where we needed different sound equipment for several musicians plus his D.J. services. When I finally spoke with him, his tone was defensive, and he claimed that he usually “called the bride a couple of days before the wedding to work out the details.” Furthermore, he claimed to have spoken to my musicians about their equipment and sound needs. At the wedding rehearsal, I found out that none of my musicians had spoken with him, and all of my musicians had contacted him multiple times. Additionally, I sent a very explicit list of songs requests. He confirmed that he received the list and that he would work on the playlist. However, he ignored this request list in it’s entirety during the wedding reception.

I will say that his quality of work on the wedding day was good (aside from ignoring our list of requested songs). Many guests complimented his skills, and the musicians were happy with his production work. However, his business skills deserve a F-.

Get another D.J. or save some money and create an itunes playlist for your reception—you will happier without Stephen Bailey at D.J. Express.
