HOW I WORK

In my photographic stories, I am continually looking for style, connections, and those details that immediately capture my attention. I love to shape people through the creative use of shadows and lights. I won’t bother you, no long poses on command during the event – I look for spontaneity because emotion is captured only when it’s authentic. I have to observe everything so as not to miss anything. I move with the utmost discretion. I’m always one step behind, ready to make myself clearly visible only if someone is looking for me. I will be everywhere without you noticing me.

At real weddings, I prefer techniques and solutions that belong to the cinema world: the choice of lenses, the type of shot, the intensity of the light, and the sharpness of the image. I have to capture and immortalize reality as it is, without filters, and report it with the photo as if it were a film, with the authenticity of what is happening and the spontaneity of people not posing.

Since I was a teenager, I’ve always been attracted by the perfection and the elegance of fashion pictures, so when the goal is a special photo – the one that tells a detail of the dress or hairstyle, a glimpse of the landscape, a corner of the villa or perhaps an emotion that shines through the face – I like to customize the technique as much as possible and therefore the result. I want the perfect light, I choose the effect, and the photo becomes beauty to be framed.

I believe that knowing how to move while respecting the work of others is the starting point to create a serene atmosphere that will be perceived. The rest comes almost as a consequence; a relationship of mutual trust is established with the owners of the locations, the planning dictated by the wedding planner is followed, and the needs of the catering managers are recognized. Full cooperation guarantees maximum freedom of action and the strength to deal with any eventuality.

WHO I AM

I’m Cristian Mangili, and I, along with my team at Photografica Mangili Studio, are dedicated to capturing the beauty and emotion of weddings in Italy through photos and videos.

I was born between Como and Bergamo. These places have taught me the sincerity and solidarity of the people, dedication to work and responsibility, the magic of certain landscapes, the indomitability of the mountain, and the efforts of walking its paths.

Photographing your wedding is doing my best to tell a true story in an unforgettable way. Like when you reach a peak and, after a long walk, you take a good look at the view to fix it in your mind. Only that my eyes are the lens of a camera, and the view is you.

Definitely, the wedding day belongs to the newlyweds, but it also becomes a bit of mine. I like to give advice, have a say, and share until I collaborate. And I can assure you that the results are visible; you can enjoy the event with complete peace of mind.

I’ve been photographing weddings for many years. With the experience and the refinement of my skills, I have widened my range of action; I love to set my photo shoots in different places, sometimes very far away, following your taste. Just find your destination, and off we go.

You could choose the lake: Lake Como with its most renowned locations – Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio – and its most beautiful villas – Villa del Balbianello, Villa Serbelloni, Villa Monastero Pax, Villa Carlotta, Villa Erba, Villa Aura del Lago, Villa Cipressi, Villa d’Este and the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.

Or you could imagine yourself on the shores of another lake: Lake Maggiore or Lake Garda. Or even you could dream of getting married in the hills of Tuscany, in the magic atmosphere of Venice, in the sun of the Amalfi Coast. Maybe in Umbria, in Rome, in Sicily or anywhere else in Italy.
